“Colour of rug does not match sample
I ordered a rug from Riviere made in a pattern of part 100 % wool and part 100 % silk. Before ordering I had lengthy conversations with the company about which colour to choose. I received colour samples in wool/tencel mixes. The sample I liked was 2/3 tencel and 1/3 wool. I expressed concern over this fact since the large part of the rug is 100 % wool. Would the colour of the rug be the same as the colour of the sample? The company answered that if I "rotate the sample so that you see the colour from its darkest side this will show the tone as it would be if woven in 100 % wool". I made my decision based on this information. I had to pay the rug in full, GBP 6,079.00 before they sent it to me.
When the rug arrived, the colour of rug wool was very different from the colour of the sample. The company has refused to own up to the fact that they gave me misleading advice. They have refused to take the rug back. They even made their own sample to prove that the colour of the rug is the same as the colour of the sample, but when I asked them to send me half of their sample, so I could compare it to my sample, they refused, which of course is due to the fact that they know their sample is not the same colour as my sample. Their behavior throughout is really quite appalling and highly unprofessional. The rug is now rolled up in my attic, and I am left with the worst shopping experience I've had in my entire life. I recommend to avoid this company at all cost.”
