Found Satsuma online when payment for a job I had done was very late in coming through. Needed some cash and breathing space. Application was very simple and had the money in my bank within a couple of hours...amazing service. Yes the interest rate is a bit steep, but I have had a few problems in the past so walking into the bank was not an option for me and I understand they are taking a risk. Repayment is very easy and is taken every Monday morning (You can choose your days). Have dealt with Provident over the years so pleased I was dealing with an established company that I knew.

I sent an affordabilty complaint to this company. After 8 weeks they asked for another 2 weeks which I said was ok. We are now 3 days over the extra 2 weeks and not a response. I emailed them 2 days ago which has just been ignored. Will give them until 2moro for response or sending to Fos with all paperwork showing how they are messing me about

Verification process hopeless; as I don't have a mobile with photo facility, current driving licence, current passport or "firearms certificate" (what!) having a British birth certificate doesn't count! Will be getting another loan from Morses who are much friendlier and helpful. Waste of my time

Avoid like the plague, I took out the £1,500 loan on the 31st March 19 and then called up to settle on the 01 May 19 in full as no payments had yet been deducted from my bank.. When provided with the settlement quote It was £1604. I thought that was fair as I had the money for a month and on their interest rate should have been about right as the interest worked out to about £124 a month on the loan... After clearing my balance they then the same day took another £249! Nothing was mentioned on the call that they would still claim that days payment and the interest for 1 month was £350~ Phoned up and they were absolutely useless and kept claiming it's all worked out by a complex formula and couldnt tell me why! I've got hold of the formula and still their figure is incorrect! Complaint going to FOS

Satsuma gave me the incorrect settlement date (one day before) which cost me an additional £70! The customer service is attrocious, failed call backs, no response to a complaint raised on 29 April and no response to my requested SAR! Interest is sky high, £834 interest paid over 6 months. Avoid avoid Avoid!!!!!!

I have had several loans with satsuma and never had any problems very simple to apply and I got a quick decision the money is always in my bank within a few hours, yes the interest is very high but if you are not happy with that then simply go elsewhere for a loan

Absolutely rip off when I asked where from that high interest of paying early they gave me link to website which doesn’t exist! Avoid! Someone should check their registrations if this is allowed by law.

Maria from the call centre went above and beyond to help me answer some questions I had in regards to my loan. Not only did she show amazing customer service skills, but also showed a great level of understanding and people skills, which is more than can be said for some of the other representatives. I was very much satisfied with the service in all aspects.

Satsuma do state what interest they will charge and that most of the interest is payable early on in the agreement. You do have 14days to cancel the loan if you provide it in writing. I paid £43 interest on a £900 loan after providing notice to terminate the credit agreement on the 13th day from e-signing. Still quite a lot of interest for just a couple of weeks borrowing but it suited my purposes and saved me a headache. I have done this on two occasions. In my view it helps me overcome a temporary shortfall and still nets Satsuma a good level of interest for the short duration. A win - win situation possibly? It appears not for Satsuma who are no longer offering me any size loan when I apply any more. It would seem they don’t like short term lending (certainly not within the 14day cooling off period) and are only interested in locking customers in to that early high interest agreement where the bulk of the interest is taken during the first month/s of the loan. For me it really illustrates just what unscrupulous types of people are behind these high risk, high interest loan companies. Sunny and SafetyNet Credit do not penalise customers for early repayment/settlement. SafetyNet Credit also increase your borrowing limit for a good repayment history. So in short Satsuma Loans (owned by Provident) can go sling their hooks! I’ve requested my personal information be removed from their system.

Working for the complaints team must be the easiest job in history.. when a customer calls just say we sent a letter to your address (they havent really) or we will email it to you now? And they dont.... complete rip off merchants....
