Rubbish customer service. Their phone lines are always busy and the agents do not have any clue what they are talking about. I am considering switching to a different provider.

My sister died in March 2022 and as executor of her estate I had to notify Scottish Power of her death and to change the bills in to her teenage son's account. Despite this conversation Scottish Power started sending letters to my grieving nephew threatening to cut off his supply unless the bills in my deceased sister's name were paid. After several attempts I finally got through to Scottish Power again to go through the switch over to the new name for the second time and arrange a payment plan for outstanding arrears due to my sister spending the last months of her life in a hospice, but yet again the threatening letters to cut off the supply continued. Tired of their behaviour I called Scottish Power once more and I was assured that everything was now in order, yet days later Scottish Power phoned and bullied my nephew into paying £600 without an explanation, which due to his young age and inexperience he paid despite barely having enough money to last him and his brother the rest of the month. I phoned them once more to highlight this unforgivable error and Scottish Power returned the funds assuring me the matter was now resolved. So you can imagine my anger and utter disgust when I discovered three months later that Scottish power had not been debiting my nephew's bank account, but instead had elected to take the funds from my grieving elderly mother's bank account instead, without advising her. I called Scottish once more totally gobsmacked at their incompetence. After waiting for 2 hours online they eventually picked up and reimbursed the difference without an apology and finally set up the correct payment details in my nephew's name albeit we soon realised that they had done so without adding the surplus payment plan we organised for the outstanding amount owed. To top it all off, Scottish power then sent a letter addressed to my deceased sister saying. "We are sorry to see you are leaving us". Suffice to say that from the ratings on this website it is plainly obvious that you should never use Scottish Power.They have no customer support service and obviously no heart. I have never experienced anything like it in all my life. Avoid them at all cost.

if i can give zero i will. untrust campany it is bad company . i been gas custmer i been told you will pay less than priviews campany EDF but they are charge me over over. i bren in holidy and they charged me too . i email them but no one call me back when you call them they line is cut very bad custemer survice . now i want leave they asked me to pay outanding balace. as i am premeter card how can i have oustanding balance ? they are untrust company .they just want money . i am very disappoint with this company .

Their not very understanding as long as they get their money their fine but as soon as you carnt afford a bill their on you like a bat out hell and as for their estimated gas bill wow I changed to smart metter Becouse I could top wene I need to my elec is fine but my gas has give me nothing problems I hardly has ever my central heating on because I carnt afford it but then they gave the balks to send me a £270 bill sort ur self out ScottishPower ur a disgrace

I have beed a Scottish Power customer since 2018. I requested a smart meter as soon as I became a customer. I have mede multiple subsequent requests. I have had zero response. There appears to be no way to communicate effectively with Scottish Power. Why can't Scottish Power provide me with a smart meter? Why can't Scorttish Power provide me with a response. A/C ...471

Hi my name is Catherine Lloyd I what to report Scottish power we are not happy with your service at all we are sick and tired of u tell us you will ring us back in 5 days and u did not ring us back at all I am telling you if u do not pull your finger out of your bank said and do Ur job right in the 1st place I and telling u in January we are going some where else ok

On hold for 4 hours. Talked to the guy on the phone, he cut us off again. This is every time we spoke to them over the last few months over the same issue. Still not resolved. It's a horrible experience, stress like you wouldn't believe and we're completely powerless

PATHETIC is all I can say!!left scottish power 2 months ago,then got an email from them saying they owed me £133 refund over 2 weeks ago,still not got refund!calling forget it as they always end the call,as they say they are very busy!which is a nonsense!as they can't be busy all the time. Tried live chat which is useless as it only gives generic answers,and not the answers I want! So think I've lost my refund as impossible to get through to them. Oh well, it's what it is. If it were the other way round and I owed them money,I would never here the end of it!!! I'll say it again PATHETIC........

havnt had gas for yrs toping up 50 pound get 6 p0und no emergancy .i was top[ng up over 100 a week and still left witout eletric iv stoped toping up letric a yr ago my bill on metreis 10.0000 ten thousand im disabled live in one room il go without before i pay them

Absolutely appalling customer service! For over two weeks I been trying to just talk to a real person. Live chat is unanswered for 30 mins then disconnected. Phone lines are always "we are busy call back later" Emails are automated reply's with useless content. Don't go near this rubbish company.

Very bad customer service and there system is not proper. I paid my bill but still my account is showing no payment. I submitted payment proof and was told will get a call back but they never got one and will never answer the calls keep saying very busy. They even say live chat which is just a BOT chat. My emails will take ages to get response. I would never recommend this supplier to anyone.

Dreadful .. awful!!! Needed a replacement electric key and could not get through to anyone. Message saying lines were too busy and call back later. Then tried the online chat... was sent automated messages and then ignored. I have been without electricity for nearly a week. Also couldn't activate the online account. I even tried ringing at 09.00 and still got the message that lines are too busy .I have now moved to EDF who actually awnser the phone when you call them. Scottish power are AWFUL.

SCOTTISH POWER IS BY FAR THE WORSED ENERGY COMPANY I HAVE HAD DEALINGS WITH AS WE HAVE A LARGE NUMBER OF RENTAL PROPERTYS AND ARE OFTEN IN CONTACT WITH ENERGY COMPANYS TO RESOLVE DEBT LEFT BY PREVIOUS TENANTS ETC BUT THIS COMPANY IS BY FAR THE WORST CALL CENTRE CHATS ROOMS ONLINE COMPLAINTS ARE JUST THE PITS NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH ANYTHING JUST PASS IT ON AND ON TIME AND TIME AGAIN ON HOLD FOR HOURS ON END NO REPLY TO WEB CHAT OR EMAILS !!!!"! PLEASE AVOID ANY DEALINGS PLEASE

If there was -0 I would gladly give it. This company should not be operating at all. They advertised smart meter to me like it's the best thing that has ever happened to me. I got an appointment and someone came to fix, when he did a demo it was working perfectly well. Few days down the line the HD and meter started freezing and when I called them I was told to give it a few weeks which will sort the problem and now its been months of the "smart" meter playing up. I have to top up with UTR no stood outside on the main meter when it's freezing cold and sometimes it wount take the code I could try 10 times in vain putting those small numbers in. Iam totally disgusted as I have tried to get in touch but they don't ever answer the phone anymore. I have tried the last few days holding 2 hrs at a time and then phone is disconnected. I pity any vulnerable person who is with Sp. Also I have to beg for my 66/67 pounds every month as they say they have applied the credit while they know so well that my "SMART" meter does not communicate with them, or even my HD / phone app.

I'd have given no stars if that were an option. I have been trying for two days now for a friend to notify of moving into an address where the meter has a debit from the previous occupier. 6 hours on the phone yesterday, 4 hours so far today. Automated messages end suddenly, terminal waiting on hold with no indication of how long the queue is, no channels work - online chat is a BOT and is useless, web pages for online move don't work and no-one replying to facebook messages either. It's a disgrace that a utility can treat captive customers with such contempt during the winter months.

Impossible to get in contact with them, in the small chance you do get through they'll hang up on you mid-conversation and you're back at the beginning again. I've been trying to sort out my government £400 for the past three months and it's still unresolved. The few phone line workers they have are rude and frustrating to talk to. DO NOT SWITCH TO SCOTTISH POWER

Scottish Power should be investigated by Ofgem. I am sure Ofgem must had several complaints against SP but have decided not to do nothing about it. So I have decided to take my complaint further to the Ombudsman Service. Lates hope they can solve my problem.

Incredibly overpriced tarrifs - also nonsensical payment expectations. I submittex a meter reading after being prompted once, only to be called up a couple of weeks later telling me they would be taking legal action if i didn't pay a bill. I asked them what bill this was asd i pay quarterly. It turns out, submitting a meter reading creates immediate expectation of payment, which is moronic and scummy. Additionally, their website is terrible, and they have thousands of people with no real accounts or ability to check tarrifs because they're not fully registered but the website literally doesn't generate password reset emails for them. Stay away if possible, the fact that this company is still operating is a disgrace to the nation.

Absolutely disgraceful company, this company does not care about customer service, I have been on the phone for 6 hours in the last 3 days, they put you on hold then end up cutting you off, I will now go wirh another provider, Absolutely discusting company
