Cheap but you get what you pay for Ordered 3 sim only deals as Plusnet ceased their service. Transfer was easy but once we received the sim cards and started to use them the signal was very poor. We live in a city and had no issues with Plusnet or my work phone. On contacting customer support they said they didnt have strong coverage in that area and that its on their future roll out plan..... they then gave me £3 back as compensation! So after one month with them Im having to switch to 02 on pretty much the same deal. We track the kids phones and have to keep them in touch when their clubs finished but this wasnt possible on Smarty due to their poor network. As an aside customer support tried to say it may be the hand set (had me restart it) until I pointed out this affects three numbers on three recent generation Iphones Very disappointed.

I wish I could give 0 or less stars. I have never in my life had a worse experience with a phone provider. I ordered my sim, got lost or didn’t arrive for over a week. I already put my pack code on the order too to transfer my number. I asked to cancel and get my pac code and they said no. Waited another 5 days for new sim to be delivered. It arrived. Activated the sim, said it would then take two more days to transfer my number over. Two days later. Went to use the sim with my old number and it didn’t work. Go on the chat and they have sent me a suspended SIM card so I had to order it again. I refused and asked to cancel and she said she could give me my PAC code and cancel….after the first person I spoke to said I couldn’t do that! So I wasted an extra week for no reason. I still don’t have a working SIM card or my old phone number. I have lost clients and business and potential interviews by people not being able to contact me for three weeks on my number. Never ever recommending this to anyone.

Doesn't allow texts to short numbers, doesn't state this clearly anywhere, and their customer service is pretty useless. Signal is ok in towns and cities, but absolutely awful if you go into a more rural area. I get a decent signal with both EE and O2 in the same areas Smarty has little/no signal. When asked about the texting to short numbers I was told "The team are working on it". Turns out they meant to say they aren't working on it and there is no current plan to provide it.

Appalling Service. Well non existent service really. Like so many on here received the SIM placed in the mobile and since then no service. There is one element to draw to peoples attention and seems to be common. If you enter in a PAC code when ordering the SIM, which they allow you to do, this is the start of the problems. I have subsequently learnt that until the SIM is activated you cannot use a PAC code. So if they jump the gun, which it looks like they are doing things fail. So remove this option Smarty. In my example we have now been without a working mobile for over 5 weeks.

Avoid if internet use is highly important. Price point is great however major trouble with network coverage and mobile internet. Have often been left with no internet all day despite having many GB 'available' in account. Highly inconvenient.

Americans in London. We bought two sim cards for our iphones. Installed but had questions. Tried connecting via browser or app on iphones. They are fairly quick to respond but the verification process for us was beyond difficult because they had different information on us than we had. Of course they want to protect their customers but the customer support people lacked intuition to see that there was a information problem. We never received any support because of the verifcation problem. Later, post vacation after disposing of sim cards we get notified of a unknown automatic renewal. We requested a refund. But it took 3 days and exceed 12 hours on the chat line to finally get a person with authority to give us our refund and cancel our account. Why customer service stonewalled us so long is beyond me. So frustrating.

Only wish I had read the reviews before joining this terrible network. I joined in hope or receiving the unlimited data they promised.. 2 days in and I realise that any access to the internet requires me to do as follows... 1. reset network settings and restart phone 2. remove sim card 3. switch off phone 4. wait for 3 minutes and restart phone 5. reinsert sim and restart personal hotspot. Any untethering and use of phone requires this laborious process to be repeated. Customer services are totally useless and apathetic to their customers distress. I shall share this review in as many places I can to deter as many as possible from making the mistake that I did before returning to my previous network.

Bought and pre paid for sim popped in phone when it arrived 24 hours later still no service no text no email nothing. Spoke to someone on line which is really annoying and long winded told me to turn off and on blah blah like I'm an idiot 🙄 this is my 4th attempt with smarty in 2 years because giffgaff slow down speeds between 7am until 10.30 am and then from 5pm until 7am every single day. But I'll never used smarty again they don't know what they are doing response time is ridiculous so I told him to cancel and refund to original payment sorce. Fancy selling pre paid sims taking your money but not having it ready to activate. At least with giffgaff if you run out of data they still allow you to get onto the Website to top up. Smarty don't so while cutting you off how are you suppose to register the sims for use and if like me you suffer severe anxiety and don't like to leave your home and you can't get onto smarty Website they'll tell you to go shop and buy a voucher. They are one of the worst companies. Not sure how trust shows 5 star's I really don't.

Your onboarding process is extremely disappointing. My customer experience to date is: - I ordered my sim on 21st of May - I provided my PAC code on my order to enable my number transfer - I received my sim on the 30th of May. - I immediately actioned the transfer process - My phone number was disconnected today 10.30 - I received an email notification today at 14.15 advising that my number had been transferred - I followed the process to the letter, made sure my settings were correct and still no connection - I contacted your message centre today and this was the response that I received… I had read reviews on the poor customer experience through the onboarding experience, and I can now vouch for this. This part of the new customer experience is the most important and in my opinion - SMARTY have failed. I did a lot of research, I took the risk of knowing this was going to be poor and it was confirmed. Using my personal phone for work and now the potential of having 10 days without being contactable - absolutely unacceptable.

I had not topped up for months as I experienced a bit of poverty. Now I'm back on my feet, I went to try top up and my PAC code expired. They refuse to re-issue another PAC code and tell me I need a new number. I'm so angry, I've had that number for my whole life. Any other provider keeps your account and ensures a new PAC code even after expiration. Absolute disgusting. Spoke to 2 representatives, neither would help me. Worst provider I ever experienced.

Signal is terrible and the customer service is even worse. It’s been 3 weeks and I’m nowhere closer to being able to login to the app with my number as they haven’t transferred it to the app. All the replies I receive are written in poor English with no relevance to the question - as if what I’ve said hasn’t even been read. Then when I say this, I don’t get a reply back and have to start the process again - I’m now on the 4th person who has sent me steps to change my number on iMessage. How is this relevant!? I’ve been a customer less than a month and there’s been problem after problem. It’s completely not what I’d expected from any network, new or not. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone and I can’t wait to leave!!

Appalling- avoid - do not move to this provider. I moved yesterday and followed all the instructions including keeping my original number, my face time and I messages showed an issue. When I finally got into contact with a human via web chat. After hours, they identified that they hadn’t requested the number to be transferred over and now it will take a further 5 days (they state 24 hours on there site), in addition the customer service advisor Shabnam, didn’t respond to requests for a extreamly long time and I felt left the chat before my issue was resolved and as I’m writing this it’s now been 3 hours and I’m still unsure if it’s been resolved. I’ve got the transcript. I’d strongly suggest going with a more customer focused and reliable provider.

I was out of contract so I decided to try the SMARTY offer I found. I activated my sim on the 15th March 2023 after it arrived by post and using the SMARTY App, I also entered my PAC code as I wanted to keep my old number. My old sim stopped fuctioning shortly after and I replaced it with the new SMARTY sim. The SMARTY app stated that my new network would be ready by 5pm and an e mail would be sent to confirm this. All going well so far. 5pm arrived and there was no e mail, no phone service and no 5G. At 5.45pm I contacted SMARTY via the live chat and I was taken through a number of worthless checks: it's my device, clear my messages??, put the sim in another device, take the sim out/put it back in. Eventually I was able to make out going calls, but then I discovered that any incoming calls were being treated as an "incorrect number please check and try again", it was like the number didn't exist dispite being able to make out going calls. I kept going back and forth on live chat until 8pm when evenually live chat closed for the evening and the fault was not resolved. This morning on the 16th March I have found that I can now receive in coming calls and make out going calls but 5G is still not working. I contact SMARTY through live chat again and we spend sometime going back and forth with another number of worthless checks, there is no 5G in my area "err yes there is", put the sim in another device, change the APN settings, faulty sim, too many people using the same 5G mast, work being carried out on the mast. It just couldn't be resolved. Today at 5.30, 16th March I dicided to cut my losses and close my account and asked SMARTY to provide a PAC number as I'll look for another network provider only to find that this is going to take another day for them to issue this. Don't waste your time, poor network service, poor customer service, poor me.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! Joined Smarty just over a month ago and had a little issue to begin with but was quickly sorted. Then a few days later my wife joined and we created a group then everything was great. Didn't last long, my auto renew went through no trouble but a few days later my wife's account went into pause!! When I finally got in touch they said we are having technical difficulties and not to worry about it, later that day my wife's account ended due to not being paid. After getting in touch and waiting 2 hours for them to get back to me ( it said they answer typically under 4 mins) they told me my bank had rejected the payment. I got in touch with my bank and they said Smarty had not even attempted to collect payment. Last night my wife paid her payment using a different card and it has gone through however this morning she still cannot use her phone and it is still saying she needs to pay!!!!! Can I get in touch with them NO!!!

If I could have put zero stars, I would have. Paid for a sim, sim never activated. Customer service couldn't help. Wasn't worth it at all. I don't trust this company at all, should have read the actual user reviews before buying.

I am reporting back after another month from my last report. Since then, SMARTY have taken another 3 payments although they did reverse one payment. I am going mad with frustration and anger as everytime I email then they reply asking for more and more details. At one point they said that my email was wrong(the one they emailed me on) considering that they describe what they offer as a rolling contract cancelable at any time how can they keep charging me every month for something which has never been activated, never been used and which I have made perfectly clear I do not want.they have zero customer service. IN MY OPINION SMARTY HAS THE MOST APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER
