Please, if you care about your money and your well-being when on vacation or business, do not rent a car with this company. First, when we arrived in Porto, I called the number provided for the shuttle bus. Nobody answer. We waited and tried for more than 30 minutes, until the Van drove by and I got to stopped them. During the trip, I had a few questions about returning the car earlier. No one answers, I tried via text message, and only got a response the next day. I booked online, and the reservation was for pick up in Porto and return in Lisbon. At the end of the trip, I found out that I was being charged an extra fee of 225 euros, for returning it in Lisbon. I questioned it, because my reservation already said where I would pick it up and return it and it did not inform that an extra fee would be charged on top of the amount I paid on the reservation. When the guy in Lisbon came to check the car, he found a small scratch on the wheel, which was already been indicated by my friend to the staff in Porto, but the guy didn't put it in the contract, but the video made by me, has my friend telling him about this scratch and he knowledge and said that was nothing to worry . When he showed me the contract, I noticed his contract was not the same as mine, signed by me and which I had in my hands my copy. But his copy had a lot of things added after I signed. I said that this was fraud, as the contract had been altered after it was signed by me. But he didn't really care, he said I should complain to his boss. And for this small scratch on the wheel, I would be charged 275 Euros, as I did not purchase insurance with them. I paid with my Visa. I have already requested an investigation with Visa for contract fraud, contract tampering, Scam, double charged. Waiting for Visa to be respond and I will be able to also take legal action.

I rented a car from Surprice and found it was more costly than I expected. The sad thing is that I arrived back to be told that my costly deposit would be returned within 14 days yet read on the paperwork it would be 25 working days. Having returned on the 26th july I still haven’t received my refund. This company don’t respond to emails and are happy to steal your money . Fraudulent promise of a refund of your hard earnt money . Stay away

A Frustrating Experience with SurPrice Car Rental - Avoid at All Costs! I recently had an unfortunate experience with SurPrice car rental that left me frustrated and disappointed. I feel compelled to share my story to warn others about their questionable practices. Our ordeal began when our original flight from the UK was delayed by a full 24 hours. Understandably, this forced us to explore alternative flight options. We promptly informed SurPrice of our situation and inquired about the possibility of picking up the car outside of their normal operating hours. The gentleman we spoke to over the phone was polite and accommodating, and he mentioned a reasonable additional cost of 100 euros for the after-hours service, which we found acceptable given the circumstances. Ultimately, we managed to secure an alternate flight that allowed us to arrive at the car rental location well in advance of their closing time. However, our shock came when we were hit with an unexpected late arrival fee of 85 euros. This fee was imposed because we arrived more than 3 hours later than our original booking time, despite the fact that our reservation was fully paid for, and we were well within SurPrice's regular business hours. To our bewilderment, the two gentlemen at the rental desk were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for this charge. They repeatedly referred to a supposed "3-hour late rule" as grounds for imposing the fee, even though it was clear that they had not incurred any additional costs due to our arrival time. We had proactively informed SurPrice of our anticipated late arrival on multiple occasions prior to our flight, yet they chose to exploit our situation, which unfolded late at night, with two exhausted children in tow and no immediate recourse through the third-party booking company. In light of this experience, I strongly advise anyone considering renting a car from SurPrice to think twice. Their opportunistic practices and unjustified fees have left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would encourage travelers to explore alternative car rental options to avoid unnecessary stress and expense. It's essential to choose a car rental company that values its customers and provides fair, transparent service, which, unfortunately, SurPrice failed to deliver in this instance.

SurPrice in Faro..............Unexpected cleaning fee of 147.60 euros when returning car after a 2 week hire. A cleaning fee is already included within the car hire for the clean between customers, yet they charge this extra extortionate amount for a quick vacuum! Wished I'd read the reviews first about this company. It seems a common practice of SurPrice to charge extortionate fees for additional and petty items.

I booked a car through Doyouitaly. When I arrived I wanted to pay with my mom's credit card because I didn't know this wasn't allowed (you should use the credit card that belongs to the person officially renting the car). Nevertheless it is unacceptable that neither are they ready to accept cash, nor is it possible to pay for the booking with banking card, nor with my mom's credit card. UNLESS you pay 500EUR extra for an insurance (that I already had purchased on the website!!! I had paid 242 EUR), you cannot get the car. In sum, they will accept the credit card with another name on it, if you're willing to pay 500 EUR extra!!! I tried to talk nicely , offer options, offer to change the booking to the name of the credit card holder and even to cancel it to rebook it or even to cancel it . They are robots (both Youdospain and Surprice car rental) that force you to use credit cards to rip you off and have control over you. NEVER AGAIN!

Trustpilot reviews Thanks for your review! Surprice Car Rentals Your review is pending.Read more Sherif Estafan 0 reviews CA Rated 1 out of 5 stars Rude and unprofessional to say the least I cannot explain how disappointed with my experience. First, I didn't find the shuttle at the airport and when I called, no one answered. After after almost one hour, the shuttle came. When I got there I had to wait for over an hour with only 2 customers ahead of me. When it was finally my turn, the kid handling my booking, who presented himself as the manager, wouldn't accept the fact that my HSBC credit covers collision insurance and insisted on me paying then he finally told me I will cancel ypur reservation and call the police to kick you out. Never have I seen a company with such rude, uncooperative and unprofessional staff, to say the least. I went to Easirent down the same street and the were very nice and friendly. The process to lile 10 minutes and they accepted my collision insurance without debating. BOTTOM LINE: avoid, by all means, Surprice, Nextcar and few other brands you will find there. They are all the same company.

NO CAR,NO MONEY!!!!The car was rented… NO CAR,NO MONEY!!!!The car was rented from DoYouItaly.com. On arrival to “Treviso i Surprise car rentals “ office we were told that debit car is not acceptable for deposit and we can take car only when the insurance is paid off of 180eur, plus 3 days car rent did cost us 130eur separately. After we refused to buy insurance, we were offered to go outside and have good think about it, after few minutes when we made our mind we approached to manager, which was smoking outside, trying to clarify few questions we had , her reply was: don’t you see I am smoking, don’t disturb me… We called doyouitaly.com to help sort out the problem that accured on that time , we were explained that this is our own problem , that we don’t read payments terms and conditions and they can’t help us. We were left withour a car and without money that we paid. Therefore we had to wait 2 hours for a bus for our travel to Venice. Avoid SurPrice car rental and doyouitaly.com !!!

I now understand the name of the company: it was indeed a big surprise for me: They told me to accept an insurance fee of € 180 though I was already insured by the car Broker JetCars. That did not count they told me, and if I should make a damage, even a little one, they would take the full deposit of € 750. So I paid the € 180 extra. After contacting my broker they told me this was wrong information. I claimed the amount back from Surprice car but they refused to pay me back the € 180 because I had signed the contract already. Besides I got an old car with damage and a bad working Airco. Never such a Surprise car again!!! Please take care with booking at this organisation and pay something more at a better company which is in the end much cheaper!!

SCAMMERS I WISH I READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE, PLEASE AVOID USING AT ALL! Me and my partner were scammed by there No card policy and had to pay £300 insurance cover, which was not stated in the T&Cs. Then we also had to pay an additional £400 deposit holding fee! The service was AWFUL, the staff couldn’t speak English, we have no choice to accept charges as we had no other options of travel. Arrogant staff and very rude. WORST PART the car didn’t work properly, the car was dirty and kept stopping, a dangerous experience on the motorway! This place is hidden you can’t even find them, the actual car hire company is called AutoOne, dodgy business!

Surprice Fiumicino lacks professionalism, they threatened to cancel my deal and made me pay 52 euro extra from a 17 euro booking, because they incorrectly assumed my driver's license was not international. On top of that, they did not have the car I selected and had to look for a replacement. Their manager is not someone that should have a job in customer service as she is rude to customers and scream in their face, assuming being a manager gives her all the right. I am utterly disappointed by my experience, because same time I saw another man who was waiting for the rented car, for more than an hour, kicked out of the office by the rude manager, she deserves to be fired

Ordered a 9 seat car from them. They spent 2,5 hours with additional fees and expenses before they told me the car was not there ("out of service" was the term they used). This is not a trust worthy company in my opinion. Stay away and choose another company that you can trust.

For all those who did not get their deposit back. We have come a long way in every possible way and only constant appeals to the police have helped us. Only the police can save your money. No one else. And this is only during the high season, where it is easier for them to return the deposit while at the same time taking much larger amounts from others. After this season this company will be gone and thousands of people will be cheated. I can't believe this is not happening in Africa but in the EU.

I will not recommend SurPrice Venice Car Rental to others. *Unacceptable Cancellation and Refusal of Refund* I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and disappointment with my recent experience at the Venice branch of SurPrice Car Rental. I made a reservation for a rental car for seven days, paid the rental amount in full, and also paid for insurance in full, well in advance of my planned trip. However, upon arrival at the Venice SurPrice Car Rental, I was informed that my booking had been canceled without any prior notice or explanation and, to my utter disbelief, no refund would be issued. I was informed that the only refund possible would be from the insurance company. This is, in my opinion, daylight robbery. I find the manner in which SurPrice Car Rental Venice has treated my booking and insurance payment to be nothing short of disgraceful and unprofessional. I made my reservation in good faith, paying in full for both the rental and the insurance, and expected to receive the services I paid for. To cancel my reservation without providing any justification, notification, or compensation is not only a breach of trust but also, I believe, a breach of the terms of our agreement. I strongly urge you to review your policies and procedures regarding cancellations and refunds and to rectify the situation immediately. My trip to Venice has been overshadowed by the stress and inconvenience caused by your company's actions. I am extremely disappointed with your lack of communication, unprofessional behavior, and blatant disregard for your customers. Furthermore, I would like to emphasize that I will not recommend SurPrice Venice Car Rental to others. I intend to share my unfortunate experience with family, friends, colleagues, and on social media and review platforms. Prospective customers deserve to know how SurPrice Car Rental treats its customers and should be aware of the potential risks involved in doing business with your company. In conclusion, I expect an immediate and satisfactory resolution to this matter, including an explanation and an appropriate refund. Please understand that if this issue is not addressed promptly and to my satisfaction, I will not hesitate to escalate the matter to the appropriate authorities and seek legal recourse if necessary. ChatGPT I strongly discourage using SurPrice Venice Car Rental due to their unacceptable cancellation and refusal of refund. I prepaid for a seven-day rental and insurance, but upon arrival, I was told my booking was canceled without notice or explanation, and no refund would be given except from the insurance company. This is disgraceful and unprofessional. I made my reservation in good faith and expected the services I paid for. Your actions have caused stress and inconvenience during my trip to Venice. I will share my negative experience with others and on social media. I demand an immediate explanation and appropriate refund, or I will escalate the matter and seek legal recourse if necessary.

Summation of my horrible experience with SurPrice/Auto One: • Charged my credit card an exorbitant deposit of EUR900.00 • I had not one, but two flat tires in one day!! The first tire (left front driver’s side) blew while I was driving on a busy motorway. I had to stop immediately to prevent losing control of the vehicle and causing a serious accident. I had to change the tire on a narrow shoulder of the motorway, risking my life doing so. No emergency equipment available in the vehicle (warning triangles, flairs, etc.). The second tire (right front passenger side) blew while driving to Pisa to return the car. The spare was already used so we were stranded on the side of another busy motorway. • SurPrice/Auto One in Pisa were contacted several times and refused to help me. • I resorted in contacting 211 (Italian version of 911) who kindly assisted me and put me in contact with an English speaking person at Italian Emergency Roadside Assistance. • I was met by a tow truck and driven to Montopoli, Italy where the car was to be repaired. • I had to pay 140.00 EUR cash to a friend of the tow truck driver to get us back to SurPrice/Auto One office in Pisa (not to mention taking a train from Pisa to Lucca where I was staying). • Surprice/Auto One charged my credit card $786.00 after the fact claiming all of this was my fault. • Surprice/Auto One again charged my credit card 60.00EUR 17 days later with a follow-up email accusing me of a traffic violation. I was never stopped nor issued a ticket during my time in Italy. My credit card company flagged the charge as fraud and denied it thankfully. This is a shady and dishonest company with unethical business practices. They have defective and shoddy vehicles that are meant to break down so as to charge exorbitant repair fees to replace this junk (hence the high deposit held on credit cards). The cost breakdown of my $786.00 was related to EUR 400 “Damage Charge” (very vague), EUR 26.00 refueling, EUR 25.00 penalty for not refueling (as if this was possible given the circumstances) and EUR 205.00 for the tow truck. The vehicle was a Lancia Ypsilon with worn-out used tires. A new tire typically costs 90.00 EUR for this type of vehicle. Italian authorities really need to investigate this company and put them out of business.

Hi, actually I would gave them less than 1 star. They gave me a different car from my original booking, the car had lots of scratches and they blamed me for it, the tank was half full and they try to change me for a full tank. I purchased insurance with Expedia and Surprice change me extra and 3 times more. I definitely would not rent from them ever again and definitely not recommend to others.

"Surprice" is named after the surprise their customers feel at the prices they're charged. For example, the $500 (252GBP) that was charged by the company as I only had an American Express card, which means Surprice customers have to opt for their most expensive insurance policy (as they INCORRECTLY state that Amex doesn't allow pre-authorisations).
