haven't left bad review before but after dealing with this company, I'm feel I such let people know that they rip you off, me and my husband as just tried to cancel a van insurance policy, we expected the usual £50 cancellation fee, but Swindon have managed to hit us with a £200 cancellation fee.

Absolutely appalling service ! I had been with this broker for many years but no more 😤😤 . Your agents we’re indecipherable on the call and unhelpful . Your cheapest quote to transfer my car insurance to a new vehicle was ludicrous and more than £500 more than a rival broker . Swinton has plunged into the depths of the abyss and unless you have a radical turnaround you will keep plunging further! Oh and by the way your agents need to understand that advising me that I could still drive my NEW car on the OLD insurance was total nads . It would have rendered me liable to prosecution in the event . Get a grip Swinton !!!! The abyss is beckoning

I telephone Swinton Insurance and instructed them not to renew my car insurance policy as I had a quote which was over half the cost, despite my call they still took the renewal premium. Although to be fare there customer services and complaints team handling the issue well and refunded me. But the error shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Your email address is impossible to find. I tried to cancel my policy on line but without a policy number it is impossible. I now have a letter asking me phone you. I am deaf and can't hear on the phone. I have sold my house. I don't need insurance. Policy number HE 26027683356. My reference 16024488/002. Stop making it so frustratingly complicated

After years of being an enthusiastic Swinton Customer, I have now gone off them completely. Usually they bend over backwards to give me a competitive quote, but not this time, not the usual, freindly help either, just a ridiculously well over priced guote with a robotic answer service from a non committal human. Or at least I think he was human. So much for being a dedicated customer. What is the world coming to.

£250 annual premium... Sold van after 5 months... Had to pay total of £200 plus £30 to change address when I moved house...what the hell...plus the payment system didn't work so started to tell me about debt collection agencies... Absolutely awful

Terrible company in that they are simply brokers for some dreadful insurers (yes you Sabre). Go elsewhere and ideally directly with the insurer. Weeks after a crash they’ve yet to inspect my car. On the positive side a complaint yielded £150 which wasn’t what I wanted but even so. I won’t ever use them or any associated company again (Google Reassured if you are interested).

They hold your card details, automatically take payment a week prior to your renewal, then take six days to refund. Answephone says they open at 8.30 when they open at 9am. They make it so hard to cancel or not renew policy, staff are rude and unhelpful. I will never purchase any insurance service from them again

Close brothers brokers for Swinton i had to cancel my insurance it cost me £56.00 thats with a cancellation fee of £30.00 card details taken paid up full. Checked my bank statement to find that Close bros/ Swinton had taken another fee for £ 82.40 from my bank without my consent ? Complaint made via my bank ! Swinton are a total rubbish company ....advice do not use !!!

Took out van insurance on the 13 th October 2021 costing £122.14 Told them I had to cancel policy because I had to retire due to lung disease ,I was told I had to pay arrears totalling £117.79 The other company I used listened and did not charge me for cancelling early ,

Just been told by Swinton that to cancel my motorbike policy after selling my bike due to ill health they want me to pay them £40. What a bunch of rip off artists. Take my advice and shop elsewhere.

Disgusting After being a customer of this company for several years i am absolutely disgusted by them. I had a claim for a non fault accident and they have now increased my renewal from £220 to £1100. After speaking to another company and giving full details they have quoted £240 ????? A strongly worded email has been sent to the CEO and a complaint lodged with the insurance ombudsman.

Got a great price to start with run my van 8 months then it chucked it was basically scrap bought a car as van prices had been increased considerably and the new insurance company asked for proof of no claims contacted swinton after 30 mins on hold after connected to someone they wanted 88 pounds to cancel the policy held to ransom for MY NCB that I earned put under pressure basically to accept or I wouldn’t get anywhere feel robbed and cheated I would avoid at all costs if I needed van insurance ever again…..

Terrible insurance company. They stored my credit card details without my permission and auto renewed. To cancel this I had to call them but could never get through.

I call them swinton swindlers & rip off close brothers my insurance was £30 per month when I missed it i was charged another £30 by rip off close brothers £60 for the month after the year was up I cancelled by email swinton swindlers are now charging me £150 admin fees I have not paid a penny now they have given it to crc to get there money back which is never going to happen never use swinton swindlers for any kind of insurance it's not about the customer it all about the money

I needed to speak to someone about making a claim for damage to my home. 1st time - 30 minutes on the phone, no answer. 2nd time - 40 minutes on the phone, no answer. 3rd time - 50 minutes on the phone which they answered and then sent me back on a loop waiting, stating I called the wrong number when I called the number given for claims. I WILL NEVER USE SWINTON EVER AGAIN. It will be stressful trying to get thru to someone to help.

I was insured with for 6 months until I changed my car. The website wouldn’t let me online to change so had to phone. When I provided them new car details they refused to insure it, car was only 2 years younger and same c.c. But they said it couldn’t be insured and I would need to go through a new quote! They then tried to charge 6.5x than the existing policy. So was forced to cancel the policy but they charged me cancellation fee, which I don’t feel they should’ve! I checked online and all the main big companies, comparison sites etc all were only circa £100 more than my previous policy. Now because I cancelled half way through I won’t gain NCD points and will have to wait 18 months until I gain more NCD! Lesson learned do not use this company

called and cancelled my house insurance . a month later received a thank you for renewing notice. spent 40 mins explaining i actually cancelled my policy . then they still taken the first month instalment from my bank. now ive got to get back in touch yet again for a full reimbursement. absolute incompetent company. void.
