I am giving the rating based on renewal membership. I have been a loyal customer for over 32yrs and apparently a valued gold member and its very rare I have to request a call out to be honest 6 call outs in the past 32 years!!!!! But every year my renewal goes up and I am having to compare prices with other competitors and AA online quotes to find its cheaper elsewhere. Then having to ring the renewal line to haggle the price down again. Personally I think loyal customers should automatically be given a much lower renewal quote instead of having to haggle the price all the time

I have central heating cover and called yesterday for a engineer , they transferred me to home serve who said a engineer would call within 2 hrs with a booking slot ,which the did , it was booked for this morning between 8am-1pm , no one turned up . I contacted the AA who again transferred me to home serve I spoke to someone called Jane who said there was no record of a booking , I gave her the phone number of the engineer that contacted me and was told that was not their number but when I dialled it it clearly said you were called yesterday by home serve ,I was transferred back to AA and spoke to a man by the name of jo who left me on hold for 20mins before coming back to say there had been a mix up and homeserve would contact me to rebook tomorrow, so I now have to take time off work tomorrow, what a shambles.

Gearbox failure, wheels kept locking and car dangerous to drive. Impolite lady over the phone when called for help Anxious and grumpy AA assistant that presented to the scene. Offered nothing until I asked to at least be escorted to the nearest service for assessment of the vehicle. Full policy on 2 cars for 3 years with no claims and the AA would not cover not even a penny on the replacement of the gearbox. Called next day to cancel policy and the operator didn't even bother to ask why, Not worth the headache.

I thought that I was dealing with the AA organinisation instead I git saddled with a greedy unhelpful Insurer. Their policy was NO less expensive than the one I had before.....I regret changing insurers as my previous insurer in the end reduced the renewal quote. All in all a BAD experience.

Had to chase to get repairs done, rang them several times and the repair company had to send quote 4 times and took 5week to authorise repair

Car died at home, so called the AA although I didn't have home start on my policy. £85 to add it Jez! which they now give out free to new customers great!! Arrival time was however pretty decent. Battery was dead so he charged it up and got my car going, diagnosed that something was causing a drain on my battery. Did not advise a battery replacement. Make a note here as the first mistake he made was to charge the battery before diagnostics. So.... my battery dies again two days later at home, but this time my immobiliser kicked in (to many start attempts) and killed the car. So I called out the AA again. He could not figure out what was going on but was sure that charging the battery would get me going based on the first visit. No go immobiliser refused any start. Vehicle was recovered to my local BMW garage by the AA. BMW sorted out the immobiliser issue and re-coded my keys, no mention of any battery drain issue with extensive testing on the battery apparently, which cost me £125 lol. 3 days later car dies again at Home - So AA out once more, explained what had been going on with the past few AA visits and the BMW trip. So he ran a diagnostics on the battery before he did anything else and stated the battery itself was in-serviceable and needed replaced at a cost of £164. I had no choice and by this time was convinced myself that the battery was the problem so went ahead with it (the new battery sorted the problem car has been fine ever since 5 months now). Can't fault the chap that visited the last time he knew what he was doing. He also said that his AA colleague on the original visit had made a schoolboy error by charging the battery first before diagnostics and BMW were much the same charging the battery before diagnostics (if they even ran any). A total of £374 in a week.

With the AA for one year with no call outs, when I received my renewal quote it was very nearly three times as much as I am currently paying. Needless to say I shall not be renewing, this is not the way to encourage customer loyalty!

The defence by Edmund King of drivers using mobile phones "it takes time to change habits". THE LAW IS THE LAW : it seems that the AA condones breaking the,law and killing people in the provess

I don't like idea that you wouldn't email me copies of my insurance , insisting I need to go on line when it is extremely difficult at certain times all other insurance companies I deal with don't have a problem forwarding PDF copies

I seem to have been signed up for various add on "benefits" which I didn't ask for but which they deduct money from my bank account without my authorisation.
