Poor referencing guidelines, aggressive moving team

Massive invasion of privacy just to be a guarantor for my sons flat. Needed a snapshot share of my bank account, copies of proof of employment and proof of pension, proof of house ownership and then proceeded to hound my workplace HR team for incorrect information. If it wasn’t important for my son I would have told these chancers to do one.

Bad processes, never responsive, slow, no comms and when they contact you it is just a text from the lettings hub "we tried to find your reference but we could not reach them, ask them to call us back". WHERE???? Where shall they call you back and why since you have received all other requested evidence. Honestly, they need someone to help them re visit all their processes, customer journey and comms. Unnecessarily stressful process, waste of time, AGENTS, DON'T USE THIS COMPANY as you are making our lives difficult and your service looking bad as you are affiliated with them!!!!!

Anyone else notice all the positive reviews here and other review sites mention how great particular members of staff were by name? You don't talk to anyone unless it goes wrong. So why are all these "clients" who had such a smooth experience getting on first name terms with customer service? Suspicious huh? I'd suggest it could be because it's the staff writing the reviews and don't want to miss an opportunity to big themselves up. Anyway, they're awful. avoid them at all costs.. First thing you should ask letting agents is "do you use lettings hub?". If they do, part ways immediately. you'll not regret it for the sake of your sanity.

Absolutely dreadful company. I was acting as a guarantor. Was repeatedly sent emails requesting a reference. I explained, on multiple occasions, that my company does not provide references to current employees. For days I was told it was "being reviewed." When the letting agency called the "review" was magically accepted and was told it was "just a click of a button" In summary: my advice is to avoid this company completely!

Absolutely awful service. Request information from you that you’ve already given them. The requests come through at silly o clock in the morning so they’re not even open to talk to. When you do finally get in contact with them they tell you they’ll review it now but 4 days later and still waiting just to be told the same thing constantly. We’re paying 6 months up front to the landlord so why credit checks are taking 2+ weeks and hindering our move in date is beyond me. Definitely a company that has taken on more work than they can handle and have staff who just don’t care and don’t want to be there. Would never use them again or any estate agent that does as it’s just a ridiculously stressful process for absolutely no reason

If I could do less than 1 star that would be more appropriate. To stand as a guarantor for someone has proven impossible. My credit rating is perfect, I earn over £60k, and after seeing payslips, checking my credit rating they still want to access my bank account, what’s your current daily balance, complete stupid and unnecessary question and what seems to be delaying tactics. If you are a landlord, do not use this company.

This company's service is absolutely dreadful. They are not precise in what they need, they email you everyday saying they need additional information but they don't mention what, you try and contact them via the phone and after 20 minutes waiting they say everything is fine. 2 days later the lettings agent says Lettings Hub need more information they didn't say it was mandatory in the first place. You try and speak with them on the phone, impossible to connect to the person you spoke before. You end up speaking to 3 different people and reexplaining the same issue again. The issue being their website is not working!! You provide additional information (all the information possible, really) via email and phone and still they reject your application. I have never seen such a ridiculous service in my life, it's risible. Avoid at all costs.

Twice now this service has shown itself to be incompetent and inefficient with no regard for the potential tenant at all. Repeatedly requiring the same information (numerous emails & phone calls asking for the same ‘evidence’) documents signed then cancelling at the last minute despite all required documentation complete, deposits paid etc etc I have never known such a ridiculous system in just trying to rent a property. (And I’m saying that as a home owner but on the behalf of my daughter.)

Absolutely a waste of time. I advise if the property management company you are dealing with is partner with the LettingsHub then do NOT go ahead with it. You will end up calling them. Even if you get your contract, you will not be confirmed that you will be getting the property till the last minute. So if there is no other option then DO AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Absolutely awful. I advise everyone to ask the property management company they are dealing with if they partner with the LettingsHub and if they do, do NOT go ahead with it. Took so long with checks despite stating it only takes 24/48 hours, I had no personal contact from anyone at the company but they expect me to consent to Online Banking checks despite me sending every bit of proof to them about my income. Just ridiculous for a company to be so out of reach with their customers, definitely don’t recommend.

pure harassment - avoid at all costs continually asking for the same information numerous times, even though already provided. obscene amounts of texts / emails, very difficult to actually speak with anyone. They do not take GDPR seriously. Financial checks as the guarantor are too in-depth (they asked for 3 mths payslips - provided - they then asked for an employer reference - provided, now they want to see my contract of employment!!! as a guarantor - this is beyond acceptable ) . I have never, in all the years of acting as my sons guarantor , have I experienced such harassment

Worst referencing company ever. The landlord said it won't take more than 3 days to do the referencing. It took them 2 weeks to do the referencing. If your bank is not on their list of open banking then be prepared to wait a long while before the referencing is done. Instead of them chasing you, you will have to chase them. To call them you will have to hold for 20 mins each time before you get to one of the 'customer service advisor'. LITERALLY THE WORST Referencing company. If your profile has been sent to them be mentally prepared to be harrassed.

Reference check for a landlord is whether or not they have a website. Need I say more about the farce that is The Lettings Hub.

Terrible service. It took over three weeks to complete referencing checks, only for my son's rental application to be declined. As guarantors, we were at no point informed. This agency expects the clients to do all the work for them, requesting that proposed referees call them, only from a landline, not a mobile. I received many requests to contact the office but did not receive a single reply to any of the emails sent or any response to the voicemails left. In all the calls I made, I could only get through once. Nearly a month has been wasted. We were subjected to the most intrusive financial checks as guarantors. I have never, in all the years of acting as my children's guarantors, experienced a service as bad as this. Avoid.

Let me start by saying that if I could give this so-called "service" negative stars, I would do so without hesitation. Dealing with this organization has been nothing short of a descent into the depths of incompetence and despair. I wouldn't wish my experience upon my worst enemy, because they don't deserve this level of torment. Their referencing checks? A tragic comedy of errors. It's as if they've taken the concept of efficiency and flushed it down the drain. Do they even understand the word "priority"? My application, supposedly marked as such, has languished in their abyss for an eternity. Do basic principles of decency and communication evade their minds? Or do they take pleasure in leaving applicants in the dark, desperately seeking any sliver of information? Their affinity for dishonesty is astonishing. They casually claim reports have been sent, when in reality, their claims are as hollow as their commitment to work. Their work ethic is so laughable that it's borderline insulting. I've been reduced to relentlessly hounding these inept individuals day in and day out, hoping for a glimpse of progress. The fact that I have to stoop to this level should be an eternal source of shame for them. Listen up, you absolute nincompoops. Either put some real effort into my application – which, by the way, bears the tenancy reference number 0559875 – or do everyone a favor and shut down your farcical "service" for good. The mere thought of subjecting myself to their excuse for referencing checks in the future makes my stomach churn. The collective incompetence within this organization is staggering; I'm genuinely amazed they haven't collapsed under the weight of their own idiocy.

The reviews sum it up very clearly to the point that I don't need to really add much more. They clearly fake their google reviews (illegal) just to top it off. This company is the worst company I have ever dealt with and I hope for everyone else's benefit that they go bankrupt. Shame on you lettinghub. I would actively avoid any rental that associates with these guys.
