I have just been in this store and was looking for a duvet for my elderly parents. I saw a silentnight one but it had been taken out of the packaging and was soiled. I asked an assistant for a price and was it the right package that had already been ripped open. She took the ripped bag and after a long time came back saying it would not scan by this time the security man was standing watching me. The assistant came back with another quilt which was not the same one. I then asked if they would reduce the soiled one and she told me to go to the till. I waited in the queue and then the manageress if that's what you call her came up and accused me of ripping the bag open. I told I had not and she said the assistant had told her I had. She then became rude and irrate. I then told not to bother and she said it's only a quilt for God's sake. I will not go into this store or recommend it.

Charged for two items only received one and have tried to contact three times to no avail.They are rubbish.

Ordered six items received only three but still paid for six, I have phoned (impossible to get anyone to speak), emailed (no reply) written (no reply). Reading some previous reviews I am obviously not the only one who has been ripped off! I find it atrocious that they can't be bothered to reply to people. I am still pursuing this but not holding out much hope, certainly will never order from them again.

To all consumers considering using this company please please avoid at all costs. We ordered x2 items online that were for our children. Payment was taken immediatly and item has not been recieved after 3 weeks. We have been phobed off time after time by them saying its the post services fault. And they cant even probide us with the tracking number for it. We are still trying to get our money back as have bought the items again from a professional company as we have accepted we will never recieve our payed for items. We are now going to report all our phone conversations to trading standards as we would hate any other consumer to go though what we have and even if we can prevent just one more person being ripped off ots a small consalation to us.

I am very disappointed I did not receive my item despite paying for next day delivery. I assume I will now not receive it until Monday. This is unacceptable! I waited in all day Friday, i am back at work on Monday and i paid extra to receive it on Friday! also as a new customer I am supposed to receive 10% off this didn't happen either. no emails no phone calls total waste of a day! I'm disgusted at the service i have received and I will never recommend or use your store again.

Places order 3 weeks ago never received my items continuous calls and emails to them get told someone will call back but they don't ! Emails aren't responded to! Cost me in making calls and having my phone line disconnected because of it!! Awful customer services getting lied to every time and fobbed off.. cost me more than it should and still no item that's a hundred pounds out of pocket

Absolutely shocking service. Had to email them three times to see were my item was. Don't use this company! Also expensive delivery charges. Very disappointed. 😫

Went to chesterfield store on trip out.got a coat on returning home to Derby discovered it still had security tag on.couldnt find phone no for store and it's a long way back just to have tag removed.the tag did not bleep when left the store nor did it in any other shop .The shop had no staff to enquire about different sizing .unfoutunatly your store is the same as majority shops now only interested in profit and do not care about customer

Went to the Preston branch today to buy a patio table and chairs. The young man on the till was extremely friendly and professional. The young man who brought out the package helped us to the car with it but the package wouldn't fit not our boot. He and another gentleman removed the table and chairs from the packaging and loaded into the car. Wonderful service and great value for money from TJ Hughes!

What on earth has happened to TJs since it moved down the Moor in Sheffield? The old shop was a joy to shop in vibrant and lots of genuine bargains..It helped that there was somewhere to have refreshments whereas this one doesn't have anywhere.The clothes department is depressing I don't know what age group it is supposed to cater for I'm a senior citizen and it's too old fashioned for me.The doors have been broken. for ages so that doesn't look good..Also the delivery charges are ridiculously high.Please get your act together and give Sheffield the shop it deserves.

Bought a Vax vacuum cleaner and on unpacking a small clip on part was broken. I contacted customer services who offered to collect and replace the whole machine which was absolutely ridiculous for such a small item I asked that they get a replacement part from Vax but they say they are unable to do this and I would have to do it myself by contacting Vax

For Christmas I bought my husband a pair of Jack & Jones leather boots from the Birkenhead store. The first thing that went wrong with them was that the tag at the back on the left boot came unstitched. I was going to take them back then but my husband said he wasn't bothered about it. He went out in them today and it was raining heavily. When he came back he found his feet were wet where the boots must have been letting in water. I decided to take the boots back as I think a pair of boots costing £49.99 should last longer than three months. The store manager refused a refund saying the boots weren't meant to be waterproof!! He said that unless it states that boots are waterproof you shouldn't wear them in the rain. He said the laces were worn where they had been pulled tight. To me that means the laces are made of inferior materials. The boots have not been worn heavily, my husband has several pairs of boots so they weren't worn every day. It's the worst customer service I've ever come across. I will never buy anything else there and judging by the reviews I'm not the only one. Expect more stores to close.

I order a tv , then receive an email telling me it has been dispatched to store , from Liverpool to Manchester , 4 days later contact store ,they don't have it , so contact t j hughes , told it can take 7 days to travel from Liverpool to Manchester ..what's it doing walking .. even sports direct aren't this bad , so I will give it one more day then cancel , although I expect that will take longer , just wished I had read the reviews before I ordered , will never buy from t j hughes again all for the sake of £10 off should have used curry I would have had it the next day ... READ THE REVIEWS THEN DON'T THINK ... JUST AVOID T J HUGHES
