Shipping times are horrible. And now with COVID, even worse, by like 2 weeks! I ordered 7 days ago, and they still can't give me a ship date, then it will take another 7 days to deliver, so apparently 3 weeks from time of order?!!! No one answers an email, no one answers a phone call, and the chat robots don't offer any solutions or help. SO FRUSTRATING.

Due to Covid-19, many businesses are closed. As soon as non-essential businesses began closing down, American Eagle began sending out promotional emails about their super sales and how internet sales will be their priority until all of the shut-downs and shelter-in-place orders are lifted. Many items were discounted significantly on the web, and "free shipping" was offered in most instances. I, along with several friends, went online and purchased items from American Eagle and Aerie in good faith, and our credit cards were charged upon purchase. However, the items never arrived. When I called the 800 customer service number, I was told that the items were "slightly delayed" due to the limited staff, but that they were working hard to get everything out. Another friend, after receiving FURTHER American Eagle promotional emails about another sale (which the website offered at this low price for a limited time only - she had to order before the end of the week) went online and purchased several items from Aerie as well, and like the rest of us, her packages never arrived, either. After about 3 weeks of this and the same remote answers from American Eagle call center staff, "We're working on it. It is set to go out tomorrow." Or "It is scheduled to go out tonight," I started getting emails from American Eagle stating that the orders may be "delayed" due to Covid-19. One email even said the orders might be cancelled. However, my credit card is STILL charged, and I am paying interest on items that I NEVER received!! I called American Eagle BACK and told them just to refund the items to my credit card, but I was told by them that they could not do this. The items could not be "returned" to my card until they have shipped. However, according to the emails, not only have the items not shipped, they may NEVER ship. I finally got an agent on the phone for American Eagle who is out of the country, and he told me, "Yes, our distribution center is closed down due to Covid-19. It was supposed to be re-opened in 10 days, with yesterday being the 10th day. It has been closed since March 17th. But not only has it not reopened, no one has contacted the call centers to tell us when or if it will EVER be reopened." So, American Eagle, just to clarify: You have been actively sending out emails to ALL your customers as well as advertising on your website that all these great prices are being offered exclusively for this short time-period, you are offering "free shipping" with online orders, and that customers have to buy NOW to take advantage of these great deals. And you KNOW that your warehouse is closed, is NOT scheduled to reopen at any specific date, and you are holding customers' money in limbo??? Why would you sell items to customers who, in good faith order and pay, when you KNOW you can't deliver the product?? A complaint is being filed with the Attorney General as we speak, and also with the Better Business Bureau.

I understand Covid-19 causing a delay. But it should not take a week to not even give a person a shipping date. And after that they say it could be delayed up to two weeks. Also, they’re cancellation of orders system is outrageous. I believe you should be able to cancel an order as long as it hasn’t shipped. And with it not shipping until God knows when I believe you should be able to get a refund. Do not order off of their website, especially during a crisis. I understand precautions, but this is insane.

my experience with american eagle has been great throughout the years. i am a 5’3 151 pound curvy female, i have gone up sizes and several times since i’m growing and all their bottoms fit great. their tops are absolutely adorable and their swimsuits are amazing. i have 2 super cute swimsuits from ae and they fit perfectly

I feel like American eagles delivery process is so trash. Takes up to a week to get a email saying your orders being delayed and might take awhile. Also when I buy the same exact shirt just different colors it still gets delivered separately. I feel like right now with covid if this was going to hurt the companies distributors they shouldn’t be having sales on clothes everyday if they can’t ever ship them out on time!!!

I waited for a month and two of my packages got lost. Nobody even told me what was going on, I had to look into it myself. Not impressed at all. Never ordering from here again

Am I the only one who notices that EVERY TIME they have a sale that they have no jeans available online,in ANY sizes !! The other day I received an email 30% off,I immediately went on the app and no sizes available. Today I received another email saying if you buy 2 pairs the second pair is 50% off,I again went to the app to order and as always NO jeans available in ANY size. But if you check back after the sale is over,they immediately have every size available !!!! I don’t think this is a coincidence !!

AE canceled my order without notice but took my money almost immediately. This is the second time it has happened and I am very angry about it. After taking the time to shop online and process the order they just say "hey the items are not in stock any more". Horrible experience the first time as it took two very angry phone calls for them to release the funds on my account. I can only imagine how things are going to go this time. I am canceling my AE account as soon as my money is released.

Recently I made an online purchase via Americaneagle india website. I paid rs5000 but the order was cancelled by unknown reason and the company not refunded the amount. Customer care support is wastage , no use . kind of cheating people . Contacted many times but no response. So people stay away from the company suggest not to make any online orders .

I live in one city and went to another go shopping with my daughter at Aerie as a treat for her birthday. We spent over $100 and later we discovered that the store didn't remove the security tags. Not to mention the people weren't very nice or helpful in the store. After speaking with Jack at corporate I was told I would have to drive all the way back to have the tags removed. And the only thing they could offer for my gas, time and trouble was a 25% coupon. I simply asked if I could send the items back in and they could send the same items out in the mail. I do work a job and live in a different city and gas is very costly. In short the only resolve would be for me to drive all the way back for the tags to be removed and get a comp of a coupon so I could spend more money with a company that doesn't seem to care about their customers time or store experience. Not one person has seemed to care. And apparently the security tags are a joke, they never even went off.

I Ordered a pair of pants for my daughter on February 6. Was told I would be getting it within 2 to 5 business days. It’s now February 22 and I still don’t have the pair of pants. When I called the store to ask about the status the girl was very rude and had horrible customer service. The girls name I spoke with was America. Basically she said she couldn’t help me and she couldn’t refund me back the money. I asked to speak to someone higher than herself and she said she wasn’t working at the moment. When I asked her what her supervisors name was she tells me I can’t give it to you. I am super upset and will never shop at the Ingram store again. America needs a training on customer. She had a horrible attitude!!!!!!!!

I've used the email and chat options and spent an hour on the phone waiting for someone to answer. I get we have a delay but this is ridiculous - It's been 5 weeks since the return package was received and still no return. AE this is frustrating. I'm literally sitting here listening to your automated voice say "please hold and a representative will be with you shortly" LMAO!!!!!! AE you're like a bad boyfriend - DONE!!!!

I have purchased my jeans at AE since I was probably 13 years old and I'm 28 now, but I can not continue to waste my money on the poor quality product they sell today. In the last year, of the 5 pairs of new jeans I bought, I have already had to throw away 3 due to massive rips. The pair I threw away today were purchased on March 6, two months ago, and they ripped vertically on the back along the seam where the pocket is sewn on. The other 2 pairs I have slightly more understanding with because they ripped on the inner thigh (my thighs touch) but this is still an incredibly frustrating issue! I still have 1 or 2 pairs of jeans that I bought in my late teens & they are in great shape, including on the inner thigh and my thighs have always touched. I wear a size 6 or 8 in the jeans. When I called customer service today they simply said "our jeans don't come with a warranty" and left it at that. If 60% of your products fail to last a year, that is a huge issue. I'm so disappointed because AE is the only store I have ever found where the jeans got me perfectly. I never have to guess and can usually purchase without even trying them on. Sadly, I am now searching for a new store to buy my jeans at. :(

I ordered jeans with them, I received them wore them 5 times and ripped. I called them to see what I could do, they had me send them back while I ordered a new pair of jeans through them. I talked with a supervisor I was told they would be sent out as soon as possible. Called a couple days later and was told they were delaying all orders due to covid-19 and they will get them out as soon as they could get them out. I spoke with the supervisor Cassandra and she gave me an attitude because I was unhappy that I was told one thing then told another thing by three different supervisors

I placed an order weeks ago & understand the system takes time to catch up with inventory as I worked in retail in the past. However, my order was cancelled by AE because they were out of the product. I am upset because I saw it sell out of my size when I ordered it...but then restock again after I placed my order. It seems my order was overlooked. Also, to further frustrate me, when I emailed with my concerns a few times now, customer service responded back by saying they didn’t receive my return yet or that it was a partial cancellation of my order...when in fact it was my full order and also not a return!! If they would have read my email it didn’t state anything about a return...that just made me realize my email wasn’t being read. American Eagle please get your warehouse under a better order system and also get a new training program in place for your customer service team.

Trust me! They don’t deserve this star right there! I had a credit card with American eagle Outfitters that I used to pay on time and stoped using it lately. All of a sudden, today I l noticed a new inquiry plus 5 points off my credit score and when I checked it out I found out that American Eagle decreased my credit limit. And when I called the account manager said that AE have the right to decrease and increase your limits from time to time, and then said to avoid fraud in your account! I said you guys are scam coz if you wanted to avoid fraud you would’ve close the whole account not decreasing my limit and hurting my credit score! We kept arguing and she hung up on my face. Don’t get credit cards from this company! Save yourself guys this headache

I have been shopping at American Eagle/Aerie for quite a while and I think it’s save to say that I’m obsessed! I have never had any issues with customer service in stores. The employees have always been super nice and very helpful. American Eagle/Aerie always has great sales and deals that make the price a bit more bearable. But honestly, I don’t even mind spending the money because I know that the clothes are great! Every time I order online, the shipment comes within 5 days at most. The only time it’s ever been longer is when they didn’t have the item in stock and I had to wait a few more days for it to get restocked. They returns have always been easy from my experiences. I always go to the store for returns, just because that’s what’s easier for me to do. The employees have always been super helpful and they get it done fairly quickly. I usually either exchange or get store credit on my returns. It’s all been super easy from what i’ve experienced. I buy most of my clothes from American Eagle because they always have styles that are in trend and that I love. The clothing itself is very durable and doesn’t feel cheaply made, like some other brands I’ve tried. I’ve never had any experience with clothing getting discolored or ripped or anything like that. The clothes always fit really well. Other than the one time that I bought a pair of mom shorts in my usual size and they felt a couple sizes too small. That is the only bad sizing experience I have had with them. However, the return was super easy. I would say always read other peoples reviews on the items before buying. I buy all my jeans from there and they are my absolute favorite jeans that I’ve ever purchased! It’s always been difficult for me to find jeans that fit because I have a smaller waist, thick hips and thighs, and long legs. For reference, I can fit a size 12/14 in the waist comfortably, but for my hips and thighs to be comfortable, I would go a size 16/18. I love the super stretch jeggings. They are stretchy enough that I can get a size that’s comfortable in the waist and my hips and thighs won’t suffocate. I usually order them in long if they have them in stock because they are the perfect length for me. They also have a good size range compared to some of the other stores I’ve been to. They always have adorable tops! I feel like every time I go in there, I find a bunch of tops that I adore! I’ve never had any issues with their tops or their dresses either. I would recommend checking the size charts if you’ve never shopped there before because different brands have different sizing. But overall, I would recommend shopping at American Eagle/Aerie to anyone. It is definitely worth checking out!

This store is always clean and nice, with friendly staff. They have great sales and great customer service. There is a lot to choose from. The atmosphere is great. The employees will go out of there way to make sure you find what you are looking for.
