Purchased Callaway Driver, custom fitted. Informed 10 days for delivery. On the 10th day no show, told 14 days now. Still not arrived....

Please don't use american golf, they are an appalling company. Especially online, how on earth are they allowed to trade? I can't believe a legitimate online company can take payment but you get nothing in return except a confirmation of order! You will have to chase your order and make many calls. At this stage I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I receive my refund. I paid for next day delivery, after chasing my order I was informed I would have to wait at least 3 days! I hope this review saves a few honest customers out there from being totally and completely ripped off. A totally shambolic experience

I've had the same problem with Gift Cards, to me it's legal robery. A few people bought me Gifts Cards as Birthday presents and I put them to one side only to find out that after one year they expire. They've had the cash, it's cost them nothing to hold it and then tell you it's not available anymore. I will never use the store ever again.

DO NOT PART WITH YOUR MONEY ON CUSTOM FIT CLUBS Ordered a set of clubs from AG Trafford, specifically asked lead-time and was told 6 weeks but more likely 4. I asked for interest free credit and they replied we cannot offer that at the moment as we are changing banks, so paid cash. Within a few days was told delivery will now be 12 weeks, so I asked for my money back and was told no. AVOID IF HAVING CUSTOM FIT CLUBS

First of all, I’d like to state that I’ve had a lot of positive experiences with American Golf and staff. But only when it comes to apparel. I’ll only ever use them for that again. In June I got some vouchers for my birthday and decided to go get fitted for some irons and buy a set, through the 0% interest finance they offer. The fitting went okay. It was mostly positive. I got to try many of the golf clubs and it appeared the fitter didn’t push me towards any brands. He also suggested going for shafts that with me being a new golfer, won’t grow out of in 6 months time. Another positive but also ironic. I ended up opting for the Ping G425s. The Mizuno JPX 921s felt just as good to me. I could happily have used both but I was told the lead times for the Mizunos were longer. Why ironic? Because I have been through delay after delay. I was made aware there was a bit of a back log and it could be as late as early September. Fair enough. Good to be told up front. About 5 days or a week before the clubs were meant ti have been ready, I got a call saying they will be delayed until early-mid October. I called early to mid October enquiring. I was then told it would be late October. I was told that the short delay would be a positive as it must mean they are on the verge of going in to production if not already. The day before the clubs were meant to be at their warehouse, I got another phone call. Mid December now. An addition 5 to 6 weeks on top of that short delay as they are pretty much in production. Understandably I was extremely unhappy with this. I asked to just cancel the order. I’ve paid over half the cost of the clubs. I could have put that cash I was paying on finance away each month, sold my existing clubs and picked a set up off the shelf because my fitting was just about identical to many I’ve come across on those shelves. But I can’t cancel the order because they’ve already given Ping the money to manufacture supposedly and supposedly they can’t get that cash back. I asked to speak to a manager. Not able to do that but they’ll speak to one for me. What good is that? I put in an official complaint to American Golf. Got an email back right away saying they’ll look in to it and get in touch with the store. After that all I got was a passed on vague update from the store that the order is processing. Nothing else other than another email stating that the case is now closed. Useless. Save up. Pay a local professional for a fitting. They won’t take your cash and then treat you with contempt. I was hoping to start building my set a step at a time from American Golf along with 2 of my friends. They’ve now been told to avoid them like the plague. Keep focusing on quick cash ins American Golf and you’ll be flirting with administration again unfortunately

Booked in for a 'FREE' custom fitting. A few days before the fitting I got a call from someone at American Golf in Airth asking what my fitting was for. I said I have a relatively new driver, but unsure of what flex and length etc I'd be best suited for. Ive never had a fitting before. So, for that fitting i'm wanting fit for a new shaft that I'll buy from them for my driver. Their attitude changed completely and said they wouldn't just SELL me a shaft. Well, I said I'll just take my 'FREE' fitting then to work out what shaft I need. They told me no they wouldn't do that, because I'm not buying anything! (I should have read the reviews before booking as other people have experienced the same thing. One person actually said that in the middle of the fitting he told them he might not buy anything and the swiftly stopped the fitting and wouldn't give him his results!) It doesn't say anywhere on their site that you actually need to buy something for the fitting! What I didn't tell them was I'm looking to get custom fitted for a full set of irons soon also, which they've now lost out on. Me and my mates have spent some amount of money in their shop over the years when they were located at Brucefields in Stirling, along with all the money we've spent at the driving range at Airth! I even bought my Callaway MD4's from the PGA professional that was at Brucefields when they were located there! Absolute rogues who are only interested in your money. I, along with all my mates, won't be back to them or the driving range! Which is sad as I've been going to that range for years. Steer well clear.

Order placed via EU website but no mention that import duties could apply. Courier wants the equivalent of 30% of the purchase value to release the order from customs. AmericanGolf have not replied to my email, their webchat doesn't work and the phoneline is on an endless "please hold" message then cuts me off. Call back is then engaged or "dead". Can't get hold of them to arrange a return and refund. Terrible experience!

My son was given a gift card for his birthday. The card has no issue date, but in the small print it says it has to be used within a year. He went to use it a while later, but the card had been purchased before his birthday and it was deemed out of date so he was unable to redeem his birthday present. One very sad 11 year old. Customer service were absolutely appalling - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Ordered had no emails rung to see where order was on day 15 and was told out of stock and refunding as issue will all Apple Pay’s. Online still allowing you to buy. I told the company this sounds fraudulent that they keep hold of your money until request refund. Do not use

American Golf are a terrible company. Custom fit irons ordered in May, was advised orders take between 3 to 4 weeks to be made and delivered. It has now gone 3 months, with the Salisbury branch unable to provide an update to when I will be receiving the clubs.

Ordered my clubs with leeds branch and up until then I had spent a fortune with them on woods/drivers etc. Told 5 week lead time qhich was fine thwn got told had shipped after 2 weeks so thought great early deliver then went on Tues nothing Thurs nothing Tues nothing etc for 3 weeks. Spoke to manager and it was the manufacturer fault spoke to regional manager who said I had lied and it wasn't 3 weeks. No apology just poor customer service from 2 week in and no acceptance for the issue just fobbed off. Never ever order clubs from them again or recommend them.

Ordered a new set of iron's at AG Milton Keynes. Once I'd paid the deposit the service was atrocious. A long line of false promises and failure to return calls after my clubs had been lost at their distribution centre. Even when I eventually collected my clubs they said that I would get a call to discuss the problems with the service I received. Still waiting though.

Told as my clubs were standard they should be in within 2 weeks max, 7 weeks later told they were on their way to shop and guaranteed delivery 3 days ago...... Same the following day and same today, still not in. Was lied to upon purchasing and then multiple times since. Never shopping there again. My fault really as i said never again when i got my first set fitted by them, then went to ping a month later after not feeling they were right and ping said they were 2 degrees upright and should have been 2 degrees down, 4 degrees out is alot in the world of golf!

If I could use a minus I would! Ordered irons, a bag and glove. Received an email advising items dispatched followed by an email advising refund being processed as irons out of stock. Called customer service who promised it was a mistake and all items had been dispatched. 3 times they were asked I'd it was ALL items. Next day.....bag and glove arrived but NO CLUBS! Called again to complain and complaints department is the same as the customer service. No offer of an alternative and wouldn't admit we had been lied to! Will never buy from them again. Customer Service is worse than appalling and the staff are patronising and rude.

The worst business I have ever dealt with. Placed an order custom fit irons and fold up to 6 weeks. 12.5 weeks later and still no order or any update. Failed to even speak to me, told me they would call and never do, ignore emails. I can’t believe how badly they treat a customer…

I ordered a item or my son spend over £500 to be told it was delivered by dpd I never received it, dpd said it was left on my doorstep no photo of it but have tracking of van been in the area American golf will do nothing to help

Without a doubt the worse online shopping experience I have ever experienced in my life! - Order placed - Money taken of CC - Order delivered to a random address in Leicester - I requested delievery to Derby address - Item now out of stock - Won't collect from Leic and deliver correctly - Promised Refund a week ago, still waiting - 5 emails sent .. still NO REPLY - National Customer Service phone mailbox is full so message says please try later! ABSOLUTELY SHAMBOLIC!!!!
