Just got scammed by catawiki- the item claimed to be authentic (that was expected to be the pendant- black pearl, but I got a glass fake covered by transparent skin which got damaged under my fingers while rubbing it). So, it appeared to be a cheap fake! I wrote the review on the item/seller and catawiki removed it! So, catawiki is organised fraud as they collaborate and cover the scammers.

Echoing many of the people's opinions on this scam of an auction site. I had three(!!!)watches refused to be put up for auction, for various reasons, including , basically them "experts" saying, that it's not worth the trouble, because they are worth 200$ or less. Or the watch mosses box and papers when the title, pictures and description literally states it comes as a full box!(See screenshots) The same experts that evaluate fake watches(and I can prove that with screenshots other) for hundreds of times thier worth. I asked other watch sellers around, they reckon it happened to them too. Shambles. Also, while bidding, the sellers either has bots that automatically outbid you, or they bid themselves from a fake account, created for the purpose, in order to inflate the final price as much as possible . It happened to me on multiple auctions, while bidding for various watches. It basically is a big fat lie, a scam, between dubious or/and high volume sellers and the so-called experts, that are nothing more than their commission driven puppets. In their world, everyone wins...except you, who is out of the deal, of course. Oh, by the way. The 3 watches they rejected? Two of them already sold, and the other one is on it's way(they rejected them a month ago, and they were posted on a different platform in the same time as theirs). So much for their expert view. Mark my words: Catawiki is going down(with a bang) in the next 2 to 3 years. Probably closed down for corruption charges and illegal interference with the market.

Catawikibia disaster. No customer care at all but they charge everything. every fee. You can’t really and literally do nothing when things go wrong. They just don’t care. Bought some crappy watch from EU wanted money back - nothing, zero responsibility.

Very disappointed with the communication. I bought a watch, in the advert its says in very good condition, but the screen came scratched. When I looked more closer to the pictures from the add, the scratch was cover. "The expert" what the Catawiki pretend to have, is only to take his commission, doesn’t care and study in details the product. Very disappointed!!! In the first picture you can see the scratch, in the second picture is from Catawiki website.

If I could give zero stars I would. This company is very corrupt and allows counterfeits to be sold. Beware! Stay away. I bought a Balenciaga wallet that is not genuine. It is an obvious fake. I contacted Catawiki and they say they are investigating and that is a bunch of lies. I have posted pix showing the bad stitching. Balenciaga never stamps "genuine leather" on any of their pieces. Came in a box marked Made in PRC. People's Republic of China. I took a photo of a genuine Balenciaga wallet I own (left) next to the fake one (right) and if you look closely at the grain, you can tell it is fake. This is not leather, more like pleather. I will never do business with this company again.

Hi,catawiki is for me the biggest scammer site that I came across. At 71 I decided to present myself with a nice watch.i bid for an RSW watch, won and paid 773 euro. Getting it was the first scenario, so I phoned catawiki, spoke with Faith,Davy, iris, sjahoen, every time the same story, emails by the dozen, always answered by the companion Cronorama. Finally I get the watch and yes I did not work, went to a jeweler for a repair quote, 850 euro he mailed. I write this because I think people should know what can happen when you bye from Catawiki and there partner Cronorama. Regards

I bought a great number of things. Every time you buy, you pay 9% for insurance. When I received an item that was in terrible condition and certainly not matching its description, they basically closed the case without much investigation. Apparently “very good condition with small signs of use” includes rusted through, dented and black-spotted items. Your insurance and guarantee are worth nothing if the seller decides to mess with you

I bought a fine bottle of wine for a gift. It was delivered to the wrong address. After over 2 weeks I still haven't received details on where was the bottle. Specially been in the hottest time in summer. I was concern and contacted Catawiki customer service. They simply asked me to search for the bottle at the wrong delivered address, then I to ship it to seller. Putting myself as responsible (not regarding the inconvenient of ringing every flat to search for the bottle) and hoping that the seller would accept the bottle after been over 2 months in super hot temperature... Nice customer protection... NOT. So imagine to trust them with all personal datas and credit cards

account blocked, this is the real reason why your articles are never accepted, not because they are not good but because they are very likely to favor accounts or are more likely to be linked to them, otherwise they would have no problem. When you ask for explanations they make up everything and in the end they block your account so as not to bother you. French expert in wedding rings favors 3 unique French accounts to sell, same photos, same finger even if sometimes the expert has recently changed tactics, buys items on eBay and resells on Catawiki, Italian expert in decorative minerals favors three accounts, same photos, different sellers buys on eBay for little money and resells on Catawiki. .FALSE GUIDELINES CORRUPT CRIMINAL SITE DICTATORIAL MAFIA STYLE. Complete scam. Complete scam. They send you broken items. You get a few hours to complain, then after over x amount of days you get a few hours to arrange return or they get to keep your money if you can't make 4 hours free of working hours to arrange the return of worthless broken items that they charged a minimum of almost 200 euros payment and the keep unless you find packing material and a printer before the courier is knocking Great gamble on their part.

Unserious company! I bought a antique from Catwiki and in description stand that the object will be sent by a proper certificate but what I received was a A4 paper made in WORD doc by a child. I gave the seller a negative feedback and Catawiki just removed my feedback after some days. I realized then that many other buyer had also same issue but catawiki had changed their feedback to Neutral !!! So Catawiki is not a trustworthy site ever much worth than eBay. (At least eBay do not remove your negative feedback) Below you can see how the seller treated me and Catawiki did not do anything!!

I won a coin in an auction listed in the US& Canada coins category in the Catawiki site. The coin was approved from the "expert specialist" and in the title it was described as USA, Morgan dollar 1979 CC. However in the coin description with small letters was described in french as "A jolie faux coin", something I noticed after I got the coin and realised it was fake. Although the title and the category listed was clearly misleading in order to fool a buyer into buying a fake, when contacted the support about the issue they claime that because it said it is a fake in the description (in French I repeat), I am not entitled a refund. Clearly the site tolerates fraudulent listings, advertises fake coins along with real ones, the "expert" sign offs on selling fakes and the company does not protect the buyer from deception. Stay away or buy knowing you are as covered as buying from a random guy in the street

My Experience with Catawiki My Experience with Catawiki PROS: Industry's low 9% bidder's fee. CONS: 1. After a recent upgrade in the autumn of 2022 it has become harder to get around the Catawiki interface. 2. Auction bidder can no longer see the sellers name and address nor contact them to ask questions to clarify condition of the items before bidding on their lot. 3. The descriptions of many of the lots are lacking proper descriptions for numismatic items. 4. Catawiki experts say that they don't want IBNS grading in the item description if the item is not graded by an independent party (slabbed, encapsulated) such as for instance - PMG or PCGS. Thus Catawiki gives preference to independent graders (which often make mistakes in identifying and grading paper money and banknotes) rather than IBNS grading standards. Remark: Catawiki and their numismatic experts are members of the IBNS themselves. 5. The imposed 51 word limit in the item description for Sellers does not always allow to explain the condition of the item and to include detailed description in some cases when the item is not new. No wonder sellers write "it is nice" instead of describing the condition in very detail since the 51 word limit often prevents to fully describe the item. 6. If a buyer (winning bidder) does not receive their shipment within 25 days after payment and does not submit a "CLAIM" to Catawiki, Catawiki pays the seller even if the goods are NOT delivered to the buyer yet. Then the buyer has to contact and deal with the seller instead of being protected by Catawiki all the way until the goods are delivered. Although Catawiki assures the seller that they will pay the seller only after the goods are delivered, but on the contrary a buyer seems to only be protected against non-delivery for the first 25 days! And how about those buyers who live in more remote destinations and if there is slow delivery of mail that takes 1 to 2 months or more? 7. You can not cancel your auction bid even if you made an innocent mistake or even if you found out that the item you bid on had a hidden issue not disclosed in the auction by the seller. 8. Catawiki website and software is sketchy and buggy, with occasional dead links. 9. A frequent event is when you submit a "claim" to Catawiki in order to keep on receiving their delivery support beyond the 25 days you get blocked from Catawiki for about 5 minutes: "Access Denied You don't have permission to access (link was here) on this server." 10. Catawiki support now takes weeks to reply and many questions and inquiries as well as complaints are left unaddressed and unanswered. 11. Catawiki experts allow sellers to write any kind of inaccuracies in the descriptions of their items and there is no way to contact the sellers before bidding on their items. Catawiki support ignores remarks abut multiple blunders in their listings and does not correct them before bidding begins. 12. Selling process on Catawiki may be long, slow and even dysfunctional in places. Catawiki requires the seller to provide their ID that shows both sides of the id such as drivers license or a passport, but then when they are provided a large image of the id both sides they reply they are unable to read it. Then they ask for a second document proving your residential status and street address and you will also be asked to register for German LUCID number even if you're not living in Germany and even if you are a private seller just wanting to sell off some of your collection or a single car. Registering for German LUCID is extremely complicated process with confusing instructions. 13. Some sellers take weeks to ship out the sold items and some buyers are slow to pay for their won items. 14. Some sellers make items photographed spread like playing cards thus obfuscating most of items within the spread = impossible to see paper items condition. Buyer (bidder) has to GUESS the condition of the items they are bidding on! Therefore bidding (buying) on Catawiki is very much like a lottery! 15. Messages sent to Catawiki support about the excess shipping charges by some sellers fell n deaf ears = no answer by Catawiki support. That is unacceptable since it means financial loss for the buyer!

Catawiki Seller From The UK
BUYER GETS ALL THE SUPPORT- keeps item and a REFUND!!! seller left with no Chanel Bag or the money ID NUMBER 28740297 TRACKING NUMBER: LG988075178 GB You promised it was being investigated. AND I HAVE JUST CHECKED - YOU HAVE REFUNDED THE BUYER AS YOU HAVE BEEN AWARE, THE Order shows it was DELIVERED on seller postal site ROYAL MAIL and BUYER one NL - the Netherlands post.. As DELIVERED TOO ON THE 18TH DEC 2022 I phoned at least 8 times for you to then release the payment and despite all the aggressive behaviour from the buyer you promised you would explore and resolve the issue- after all both postal sites in the UK and the Netherlands showed as 'delivered on the 18th December. ' Finally you were about to close the case in my favour and release the money, as indeed you admitted the above was correct- and in the next week you overturned it, as the buyer was again nasty on the phone to you. How can I ever sell in confidence on your site again, when, as a seller- I HAVE NO SUPPORT AND LOSE NOT ONLY MY EXPENSIVE CHANEL MEDALLION BAG BUT ALSO- the MONEY THAT YOU GAVE BACK TO THE BUYER AFTER PROMISING ME THE SELLER- YOU WERE GOING TO CLOSE CASE DUE TO STATUS SHOWING AS DELIVERED?.... THIS WHOLE MATTER HAS BEEN LONG. ARDUOUS, DIFFERENT ANSWERS FROM DIFFERENT AGENTS AND A RUDE, AGGRESSIVE BUYER I HAVE HAD THE unfortunate experience of having to deal with for 6 whole weeks I am lost dismayed and disappointed you cancelled this order. NOW I HAVE NO MONEY - 510 EUROS AND I PAID TO POST IT = ANOTHER 35 = SO I HAVE LOST 545 EUROS AND AN EXPENSIVE CHANEL BAG WORTH ANOTHER 500 EUROS=1000 and NO BAG. the buyer has been protected, catered to and refunded. The seller - Myself- HAS Nothing. No BAG and NO MONEY. my 3 CHILDREN HAVE MISSED OUT THIS CHRISTMAS

Catawiki is a complete scam. I bought an item, it never arrived. I contacted the seller who ignored me, I contacted Catawiki who did nothing. After months and months of trying to get my money back, Catawiki refused. They will not answer emails, they will not listen to complaints. The site is an utter scam. I wish I had read the reviews, and believe me there are thousands of them reporting the same. DO NOT BUY from this site.

Over 2 years ago I have cancelled a small auction bid and paid the €1,80 they requested for the auction processing fee. After a recent "upgrade" of their website Catawiki has placed the same cancelled auction into my acount and marked as UNPAID requesting to pay for it again. IMHO that's fraud. Here's the documented proof. Please take a look at the screenshots:

Does Catawiki connive with scammers? It's up to you deciding... After having demonstrated with an official CISGEM expertise that lot 27112007 No reserve price - 18 kt. Yellow gold - Earrings Blood Coral is made of PLASTIC and TIN and not 18kt gold and coral, after countless emails with Catawiki assistance etc, finally Catawiki replies to me "Dear Mrs. Gilda, Thank you for sending back the lot to the seller, I remind you that the refund will be made by Catawiki after receiving confirmation that the lot has been returned to the seller in the same condition as it was received. It will be my concern to get in touch with you again as soon as there are updates. " Well, DHL tried the delivery of the package yesterday but... the Catawiki seller, LARAGM = Lara García Rodríguez Vintage Lara's Jewels SL Avenida Diagonal 304 AT3 08013 Barcelona DID NOT COLLECT the returning package ... and ...Catawiki does not return me the 460 euros spent for the fake jewel I ALSO WARN YOU that all lots of so-called "vintage jewelry" of this seller report the following statement "It has been verified using several tests, including an acid test, that this piece is made of 18 kt gold. 750 hallmark stamp". Which means.. the 18 kt stamp is not there .. but we have tested the vintage jewel and we assure you that it is gold .... Nevertheless Catawiki DOES NOTHING TO STOP IT. There are currently more than 100 lots on sale of completely fake "vintage jewelry", no reserve price, no 18 KT stamp and with identical repeated coral and turquoise stone drops in multiple lots, identical patterns in both coral and turquoise etc etc Just looking at the photos of LARAGM lots together, it is clear that this is a bad and coarse printed costume jewelry which, despite numerous appeals, Catawiki allows to be put up for sale as true vintage jewelry. A colossal deal for LARAGM! maybe for Catawiki too.. Catawiki DID NOT ACTIVATE even having signaled that it 's quite unbelievable that no one of the 100 lots on sale is marked 18 kt since "vintage jewelry" it's commonly collected from private market and it looks unpossible that all the so called "vintage jewels" do not have the 18kt stamp Waiting for my reimbursement and the effect of the police report that I am going to file .. evaluate on your own..

As a painter selling in Catawiki I have to say thet the experience is not good at all. You are completely under the will of the experts wich sometimes accept your work (mostly not) without any criteria. Impossible to contact them unless you submit another time to receive the automatic answer. It doesn't matter if you try to ask something politely. They don't answer. Mostly they tell you to read the submission headlines. I do it over and over again and I find nothing wrong about my art. But... When you sell they really make money out of you. They should treat sellers better. For example: The one with the ducks was aproved and sold. The one with the dog is impossible to get it aproved... ¿Why?

READ PLEASE IT'S ABOUT YOUR MONEY ! After demonstrating with a CISGEM experties that the earrings I bought as "27112007 No reserve price - 18 kt. Yellow gold - Earrings Blood Coral - Pearls" Sold by LARAGM Spain" ARE MADE OF PLASTIC .... I can't get back my money from Catawiki becouse the seller does not answer. Catawiki procedures require payments directly to their company but if you have to take back your money, even if you demonstrated the scam, it's your own affair. If the seller does not answer they do not cooperate Another GEM..if you ask for Catakiki assistance you are no more allowed to write a review to the cheater seller and more and more people will be cheated with the connivance of Catawiki. And indeed ,despite the fact I have allerted Catawiki, mrs Laragm yesterday sold another fake earring twin of mine NO. 60307027 "18 kt gold coral and diamonds " thanks to Catawiki connivance .

this is a practical example of a corrupt site where the expert is very likely to take care of his business, otherwise he would have no problem accepting a similar object, indeed the same look at the photos, objects approved only by two only non-professional French sellers. purchased on eBay .com from vendors pongpanotgems, gemsporium, etc. for a few euros. and resold on catawiki.
