I dont have any complaints with the products themselves, overall they are of satisfactory quality. My issue is that I have (apparently) been a loyal gold customer with CT for ten years, and as a result I was sent a voucher which gave me a discount of 20% if i spent £30 + before 7th April. So when I rang Customer Services to query why the system would not accept the 20% discount code on my order totalling £39.20, I was told i could only apply this code if i was buying full price items, and not sale items which I had in fact selected to buy. So in a nutshell I could pay full price and get 20% off or just rip up this "wonderful loyalty voucher" for being an "extra special one in a million CT Gold customer" and just buy goods on offer at 50% discount in the current sale which are offered to anyone and everyone on the Planet Earth! Can someone (anyone!) please explain to me what I am missing here because it seems to me that this useless Voucher is just not worth the paper it is written on. The young girl I spoke to at CT was only doing her job bless here but the "explanation/justification" was pretty rubbish and quite frankly a waste of my time. The bonus should be given to customers as a thank you for being a loyal customer, over and above what other discounts are offered and not instead of, otherwise it's not a reward for being a life long customer for goodness sake Thank you for reading my rant .

I ordered 2 rugby style shirts for my husband. One was out of stock, the first arrived promptly but unfortunately was far too long for my husband. He compared it to a similar item bought from M&S and it was considerably longer. Not happy with the length and also the poorer quality of the fabric we then found that we would have to pay £2.95 to return the item when other clothing companies do not make a charge for returns. The nearest store is 22 miles away so not worth the drive. Consequently I am very disappointed with my first and most likely only purchase from this company.

Disappointed in the poor quality of the fabric of a skirt I've just purchased, I returned it to Cotton Traders for a refund. I can now cost the exercise - skirt £37.00, delivery £3.99, return £2.95. Total charges equal £6.94 - effectively 10% of the cost of the goods. This is somewhat out of line when compared to most other companies. I am also disappointed that the only available means of communication with the company is via a premium phone line as I a) much prefer to email so that I then have a record of any communication if there's a problem and b) feel exploited if I'm telephoning them in order to sort any difficulties. Fortunately there are many other companies who don't charge so much for such poor service.

Why the longwinded message from the CEO when making a telephone order? I have ordered several items from CT over the previous few years and have been pleased with every purchase. I do however find it nauseating to have to listen to an elongated recorded telephone message on every occasion you make a telephone enquiry or an order. The annoyance being is that it is ‘us’ the recipients which are paying for a premium rated telephone call to listen to this superfluous message. I have recently been charged over £30 on my monthly telephone account for making three calls after placing my original order. Totally unreasonable and exploitative. Please make it clear to your loyal customers that they are subjected to this exploitative practice. It’s doubtful I will continue to trade with this company again after my recent experience as I don’t like dealing through your website. Thomas Rogers Gloucestershire

I made several purchases from Cotton Traders over the previous year and only just realised from a recent purchase that I have been charged over £30 by my telephone provider for a recent order placed. Telephone calls to Cotton Traders are ALL premium rated calls and this fact is hidden in their small print instead of making this fact clear to all potential telephone enquiries. A totally unscrupulous practice! My recent order necessitated making three phone calls after submitting my order to clarify the size of the garments ordered. For this small issue I was penalised to the tune of over £30.00 on my monthly telephone bill for making these few calls. I will naturally not be dealing any further with this company and have asked my details be removed from their customer data base. This is altogether an unscrupulous practice which I and no doubt many other customers have been totally aware of. When premium rate telephone calls are charged there is an obligation to inform the recipient that this is the case. This company doesn’t do this because they are benefiting from the excessive telephone charges. A totally unscrupulous practice which is deceiving.

Absolutely disgusted with cotton traders, returned some shoes through Evri and they have charged me £6.94 to have them returned. I don’t see any info on their website about the extra money for a refund through evri. I won’t be ordering through cotton traders again!

Like another customer below I returned some items via Evri (Hermes) which I thought was 'free', but expected it to cost £2.95. But when I had my refund another charge of £3.99 has been added to RETURN items!! So shopper beware - I didn't see this in the fine print - I won't be buying on-line from them again. Also I seem other companies are now doing this ..... perhaps to force everyone back to the High Street?!

Placed an order online on April 30 and received emails for order confirmation and then stating that the order was on its way. On May 27 I received an email stating 'sorry, sometimes things just don't quite work out' with no other explanation and stating that I would receive a refund. However, my card was charged $70.45 for the purchase but the refund given was $60.50. Did they charge for the emails???

Poor delivery. It has been over six weeks and no shipment. When you call customer service, you wait for twenty minutes. Customer service cannot tell me the status of my order. I would not do business with them again.

Bought a skirt for my wife's birthday and found it is 1 size too big. There was a number to call for exchange which they claimed it is free. Was on the call on wait/ queue for 10 minutes just to find I was charged £10, so I hang up. Wrote then by email that I need to change the size to 8 from 10. The response was asking my that call line which charges £1 per minute. Obviously I didn't call. They didn't bother to arrange for an exchange through email, for obvious reasons. Put the skirt in a package and stuck the pre-paid label on the package, ticked the 'exchange' option on the label, and put a hand written note in the package with what I am writing here. After a few days, received an email about a refund being arranged minus their fees which was £7. So purchased an new skirt with the right size (8) and gave it to my wife for birthday. But these bloody bastres stole £17 extra of my pocket for doing nothing. I will also write a complaint to the ombudsman.

I sent in review to CT of poor quality, thin cotton tshirts. They used to be heavier, better quality cotton. Also the dark band inside back neck shows through on right side. They never printed my review on the website. When I sent in another review they said I had already submitted a review. In other words - the reviews on CT site are not trustworthy as they must screen out at least some negative reviews.

I ordered a pair of jeans but had to return as the jeans were too big and also made with bad quality material. They were reduced from £26 to £16 so I would have expected better quality. I not only had to pay £3.99 delivery charge but also £2.95 for returns. £6.94 in all -what a rip off! Never again will I buy from Cotton Traders.

My elderly mother bought £10 of clothes over the phone and latterly discovered she'd be charged an extra £1.41 in premium rate telephone charges. Hidden in the small print. Profiteering by cotton traders!

Cotton traders clothing has recently been sub standard being smaller then thier sizing recently I the sizes being sent to me have been less then they where 1 year ago. Is this because CT has sold out to a multi national, I have had to return 5 item to CT as size not correct. They have a premium phone number which cost me over £5 for a 10min call a total rip off I have now gone to Chums

I returned a skirt, which was sent badly creased and discoloured. It had obviously been worn by someone else, yet they still sent it. It has been ages now and no refund is forthcoming. I will never buy from this company again.

Why do you use Evri to deliver? They claimed to have been to mine but couldn't get an answer, it's a B____Y LIE. I have been sat outside with friends waiting for my delivery and the driver never came. God knows when I will get my delivery now. I will not use Cotton Traders again.
