I recently decided to dip my toes into the world of online selling and thought Etsy would be the perfect platform to showcase my unique designs with print-on-demand. Oh, how wrong I was! My journey with Etsy turned into a nightmare faster than you can say "handmade". Without any warning or explanation, Etsy decided to suspend my brand-new seller account. I had just set up shop, uploaded my first listing, and eagerly awaited my first sale. I noticed a banner on my shop saying my account was suspended and that they sent an email with details, but I received no such email. When I submitted a case to get more information, they said my account can no longer be reinstated and provided no justification as to why it was suspended in the first place. Etsy provided zero clarity on what I supposedly did wrong. It's like being punished without knowing the crime. I tried to delete my account out of frustration, but I have to pay a listing fee for something that wasn't even live. They also have my personal banking details which I can't seem to delete. Who knows what they might do with that sensitive information? It feels like I'm being held hostage by a platform that couldn't care less about its sellers. Etsy's lack of transparency and accountability is appalling. It's not just bad business practice; it's downright unethical. My advice to anyone considering selling on Etsy: proceed with extreme caution. Your hard work and livelihood could be jeopardized at the whim of an algorithm or an overzealous moderator. In conclusion, Etsy isn't just a platform for artisans; it' a platform for frustration, disappointment, and feeling utterly helpless. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this scam of a website. There are plenty of other, more reputable platforms out there where your talents will be appreciated, and your rights as a seller will be respected. Etsy, you've lost a potential seller (AND BUYER) for life. Shame on you.

I set up my shop last year after 8 years in the 3rd sector, through a global pandemic, eventually sold some of my art, shipped and added tracking only to have my shop shut and my balance stolen. 3 months in and I’m still trying to get someone to reply to my endless messages on their platform. They ignore me and keep my money. Absolutely awful business.

My account was hacked and had little to no help from Etsy. I was unable to log in due to a 2FA being set up by hackers, I asked for help from Etsy and received irrelevant auto emails from Etsy. Magically the 2FA was removed and I was not informed but I kept trying to change my password over days and finally got in. I was left with fee's after a seller account was created and I appealed to get this removed and was denied. I now cannot delete my account because of the fees which I shouldn't have to pay. I highly recommend avoiding this company as there is little support for sellers/buyers.

ETSY IS SCAMMER I was working on Etsy last 3 years and last two weeks ago Etsy suspended my account for no Reason they didn't send me any warning email directly suspended my account and next day emailed me. has done a violation for the past three years I've been using it never did anything like that I followed their policy carefully and they suspended my account I appealed my appeal was rejected The guy named Freddy They have cheated me of 14,000 euros. i made the products and sent to my customer. My expenses were incurred. They refunded the money to the customer and my product also reached the customer. Then I went from Italy to Ireland to their office in Dublin. There was a person named Muhammad Sanaullah. He did not open the door, but I told him everything, he said call the customer center, I made so many phone calls, Etsy didn't pick my call. this is a huge fraud, Etsy is a scammer these people wasted my three years of hard work in a minute I request all of you please never to do business with Etsy, ebay and Amazon is better than Etsy, they don't cheat you like Etsy

I was skeptical at 1st but I wanted to give it a try, so I bought a purse. I was on top of the tracking and when it was shipped , then it shows delivered in another State. I mean, clearly the receipt shows my address why deliver it to lord knows where. . I will fight for my refund. ! I NEVER GOT MY PURSE!

Everything was going smoothly—I placed orders without any issues. However, out of the blue, Etsy canceled my most recent order and suspended my account without offering any explanation. The lack of customer support or contact options is truly disappointing, and it reflects poorly on the company's attitude.

I had an Etsy shop. I had a no return policy, but would consider a dialog if I had made a mistake, sent the wrong item in error, or if the customer had a similar issue. I sold vintage items. Each listing explained that old items are not new items. Certain wear and tear was pointed out in each listing as appropriate. I sold an antique Qing Dynasty robe that was over 100 years old. The buyer loved it as we communicated before the sale. I sold the garment, packed it, insured it and shipped it. It arrived right on time. I did not hear from the customer for three weeks. The buyer never contacted me, he went to Etsy and filed a "Customer Protection Program" complaint. His complaint was that it was not what he expected and the lining was a little faded. I told him I do not accept returns, and the garment had no issues other than what I explained in the listing as well as photos. He followed up with Etsy and said there was a tear in the back. An outright lie. After a few weeks since I had no further communication with the seller, Etsy said that I was required to send a refund and pay for return shipping. I refused. Etsy closed my shop. Etsy closed my shop while I was out of state due to a mandatory hurricane evacuation mandate. When I returned home, I had to liquidate my stock and send everything to auction. In the process I injured my leg and ended up in the hospital.  I do not want to do business with Etsy. Etsy is still trying to charge my account over $1,000. I want them to leave me alone. Honor my no return policy and close my shop forever. I will continue to advocate for unfair practices by Etsy for myself and other sellers until Etsy closes my shop and leaves me alone.

Customer service is vital to a company's survival as well as image. There is perhaps no valued and deeply cherished position than to provide quality professional customer service to the general public. The general public relies and expects any company to render a level of professional service to include reliability and craftsmanship that reflect the company. When any elements are lacking there are reservations for questions. We all know the saying "You GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" Although, you can pay a higher pay for quality service or a merchandise but it still does not guarantee you full satisfaction. However, when there are great review ratings at five stars and no less than a four it places you in a false norm that you are receiving quality service for the buck. After all, you would never think that company's pay the BBB a yearly advertising fee and family members will give blind ratings to make the company look flawless. Yep, I totally relied on all the fairyland tales before purchasing the Wooden Marble Run for my grandson. I have received an item of such low level craftsmanship. I ordered three runners to ensure my grandson fully enjoyed a longer run. While assembling the boards I began to notice the cracks, pre drilled screw holes would not allow to tighten the hinges, and the wrong item was sent. In the webpage advertisement they show a fixed support stand. However, a stand fastened with a cheap hinge for folding was sent. So you have a company that is advertising highly with five star ratings but can not deliver. Always be aware of ANY company that has a HIGH "5" star rating and nothing else!

I have called Cory from fatbunnyprints for a part tilt on umbrella that was to be a 3D print. But never received and ETSY I have messaged for help and they have not contacted me. So since then nothing from both. I can’t understand why I have not been contacted buy both. Very frustrated with the whole transaction. I’m now giving up on on both of them for information about my purchase. I give up Russell A

I ordered a T shirt, and even after 3 months I didn't receive it. I gave a negative review in response. Imagine, after this, Etsy (Sabina) categorically refused to ship it, saying that why I gave a one-star rating. To get my shirt, I changed the review from one star to 5 stars. Still, I didn't get it. I never received my order they said they refunded my money that didn't happen and then they said I got my order shown me a fake invoice that was dated for 11/10/2022 and the date they showed me this was 11/27/2022 so I got scammed

Their customer service is diabolial, I purchased 2 watch straps only to find that when I received it, it didn't fit my wrist, the measurements of the strap were 119mm/75mm and on the receipt it states the measurements of what I ordered 125mm/75mm. I then tried to return it but there was no return slip on my receipt. I then contacted them and they said the watch strap was not theirs, even after sending them a copy of the receipt and the email they sent me comfirming the purchase. They have now stopped communicating with me and I now have to go throught the lenghty process of getting my money back through American Express.

Despite having clear policies prohibiting the resale of items, many of the sellers on Etsy are simply reselling Amazon products. After wanting to support a small business and I received a marked-up Amazon item in its original Amazon packaging. Etsy doesn't seem to care to enforce its own policies and Etsy does not provide good support in resolving disputes with sellers.

The supplier I bought earing from BeautifulJewelsAU sent me a pair of earrings that she claimed were hand made and are not, selling them for one and a half time the price that are actually being sold at my local chemist, $10, and this supplier is selling for $25. They are exactly the same earrings, when I pointed this out and asked for some retribution, the supplier quickly contacted Etsy and Etsy has blocked me from my account, as I went to log in to make a complaint to Etsy about this supplier. This had never ever happened to me as a consumer and I will be contacted the consumer tribunal to report them!

Hi. I received my order. I have to say its the worst, diabolical quality knock off I have ever seen. £15 for a 50 pence cup is absolutely frightening. The colour of a print is shockingly bad. Not uniform, fades in one out. Massive void where the handle is. Really, really embarrassing product to give as a present. Please see attached. Quality products is on the left.

I bought a product twice worth 160 euro's and it got deducted from my account. I have proof of this but Etsy won't and can't help me with this. I need to handle it with the seller myself, not knowing that other people can sell items on Etsy without mentioning this. I contacted the seller and he denies receiving a penny and won't send me my order. I have to sort everything out myself.

I purchased an item through Etsy and the goods never arrived . I contacted Etsy and was literally told get lost . The seller did send the items and if it is lost or made an error we can not do anything . I lost over $150 . Please be aware when dealing with this company .

Waited 4 months for my coffee table. Wood cracked and joints came apart 4 weeks after delivery as wood dried out. No response to complaints. BUYER YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. LOOK AT THE OTHRR REVIEWS BELOW. NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!

now that I can write a review since the website wouldn't let me. I bought a music box for my now ex back in Christmas. the craft of the box was good but there are whole in the lid that the merchant could of filled with wood putty. the sound quality was garbage, they used a sound card like the ones in birthday cards not the metal cylinder. I emailed her for a refund and she replied no refunds sorry. The item was expensive to and for the quality it's pretty crappy.

People might not aware that purchasing goods from scammer is to support bad business therefore can bring bad luck to home. Here is how we suffered from an Etsy cheating scammer MaljiArts: (1) In early August, the Etsy seller MaljiArts took our order of a customized carving of sandalwood item for US$900 that shipping in 25 days, with US$500 deposit and balance of US$400 payable before shipping the item. But MaljiArts never worked on this order seriously; (2) MaljiArts made us work very hard for two months to teach him how to correct all his negligent mistakes by describing the meanings of our design. Until On 30th September, MaljiArts suddenly stopped replying to our messages. (3) We reported this problem to Etsy Chat staff because we could not reach MaljiArts. Thereafter, an Etsy support staff informed us that he has contacted MaljiArts and MaljiArts suddenly messaged us to ask a question of the item's design detail. (4) The Etsy support staff also advise us to "keeping a strong line of communication with the seller in regards to this order" after reading our message conversations with MaljiArts during the two months of teaching the seller. Therefore, we asked MaljiArts to set up a proper selling listing (Etsy staff told us that MaljiArts did not do so when requested the US$500 deposit) for us to pay the balance of US$400 and to ship the item after one week. In fact, the entire carving of the item should have been completed in about a week). (5) On October 7th, 2020, MaljiArts suddenly "closed" our order and told us and the Etsy support staff, that they won't sell the item and would "refund" us our US$500 deposit the same day (. (6) We have to follow MaljiArts' instruction to request the US$500 refund via PayPal, but MaljiArts canceled our request by giving us a different PayPal email account. We immediately used the new PayPal account that given by MaljiArts to send the refund request again, MaljiArts still playing trick with PayPal but do not pay the money (today is October 15th). Furthermore, (7) In the meantime, MaljiArts made a listing to sell the near completed order of our design. We only realised at this point in time that MaljiArts is not only a scammer but also a thief, they stole our design and even used our explanation as their Etsy listing description.(8) Since we continually reported to the Etsy that MaljiArts still don't pay their initiated "refund" of the US$500, MaljiArts sent us and the Etsy support staff, their chat screenshot with PayPal, to tell us that Maljiarts DO NOT have money in their PayPal account to pay their US$500 refund to us. Therefore, the refund is not paid because MaljiArts asked PayPal to use PayPal's money to pay the US$500 refund and book it as a "negative amount" to MaljiArts' PayPal account. MaljiArts have said to everyone that: now it is PayPal's responsibility to pay the US$500 to us, that it has nothing to do with MaljiArts' anymore. What a completely professional scam! It is far beyond our imagination that this can happen on Etsy's selling platform with Etsy's support. We are telling this horrible experience in this review and other review platform regarding Etsy. Now, we paid this Etsy seller MaljiArts US$500 and worked extremely hard for two months to teach MalljiArts for them to steal our original design work. Etsy wanted to use $50 gift card as the solution for this problem, and PayPal informed us that: "M AND R HANDICRAFTS (MaljiArts' PayPal account) has made a partial refund offer for $50.00 USD. We encourage you to respond to M AND R HANDICRAFTS as soon as possible to resolve your issue.....If you're unable to resolve this issue with the seller, you or the seller can escalate it to a PayPal claim before 27 October 2020. Otherwise, this case will be automatically closed on 27 October 2020. Once a case has been closed, it can't be reopened or escalated to a PayPal claim". We informed Etsy that we do not take Etsy's $50 gift card and refused MaljiArts' partial $50 refund offer. Therefore our refund request is still handling by PayPal.

Etsy has 2027 listings for WEED PIPES on their website, when I posted a hand-made ceremonial native pipe - they took my posting down and said it was an infringement on their regulations regarding cannabis?!?!? WTH. LOL - weed pipes are okay, along with papers, blunts, one hitters,paraphenelia etc..... but DO NOT list a ceremonial pipe otherwise you are reprimanded and threatened by Etsy to take down your entire store. Absolutely disgraceful. No customer service either - No email or contact phone number in Canada. You can pay for customer service - otherwise there is none. This company is outrageous.

I ordered a pregnancy album that costed around 48 euros. To this value, 24 euros of shipping were added, as the package was coming from USA to Belgium. Today, to receive this package, I had to pay more 28 euros, because of "customs fees". I wonder then if the shipping fees were only for the cardboard package. If yes, it's quite expansive... Almost 100 euros for an album that costs 48€, it's quite ridiculous. Mainly because the album doesn't really value the 50€... I fear I won't use this service again, neither I will recommend it to anyone.
