I do not recommend using this service. I rented a car and my deposit has not been returned for the fourth month (€230), I contacted customer support, they corresponded for a very long time, asked for additional documents, I sent everything, in the end they said: we can't help. it's just terrible, so much of my time was taken and with zero results

I wouldn't even give them 1 star. They didn't inform me that to leave a deposit my credit card has to have engraved numbers (yes, you read that right), so I was forced to pay extra insurance. It was their responsibility to give me that information and they replied with: well, you paid for it so it's not our business. What was I supposed to do with a crying 1.5 year old? Hire 3x more expensive car and hope they'll refund me? Absolutely shocking.

Unreliable and lousy customer service Unreliable and lousy customer service, made a reservation for a manual shift car and rentelcars.com got me an electric vehicle through Hertz in Corsica. Be warned - you have a fair chance to not getting what you ordered, and to be turned down by the customer service. They ruined our holidays !

I recently rented a vehicle through rentalcars.com. Was hit with multiple extra fees/taxes at the rental counter. When i booked I saw Rental TOTAL xxx$. This was not the case. An extra $165 was added at the rental counter. Airport fee, tax, + other fees. Will never book with an agent again. Always through the rental company from now on. At least you know what the total will be.

When returning the car at Thrifty (booked via Rentalcars.com) in Split, Croatia we were 1,5 hr late due to traffic. No flexibility was shown. A full extra day has been charged. Even including the extra fee for a second driver. No flexibility at all. the only thing I could do was to pay. I have no problem to pay a certain fee for late return. But to charge a full day is out of proportion. Filed a complaint via their website. No reaction at all. Rentalcars.com has lost a customer for ever.

They left us stranded in Corsica. Hertz only had electric cars even though we has ordered a petrol. They forgot to give us charging cables. Phoned Rentalcars and said can you please help us. Their reply was no. Tried to raise a complaint but they've basically said you accepted the car your problem. Disgusting.

I showed up at 3am at Las Americas in Santo Domingo. Nobody at Budget desk. It never occurred to me to call RentalCars on the spot to describe the unexpected situation (my only mistake; my mistake nevertheless). I was tired and just needed a car (that I ended up getting from a different shop). Getting in touch with RentalCars later was painful; they basically implied that I was lying (I provided all the evidence I could; just didn't have a picture of the empty Budget desk) . I fully prepaid to RentalCars a few weeks before that; so, I lost 100% of my money on top of being politely told that I was lying. Folks, be careful ... Advice from someone who's got burned a few times: whenever you can rent directly from a rental shop, do so. Skip the middlemen like RentalCars. They provide no value added; and when there is an issue, you're almost always on your own. The actual rental shop will always send you back to talk to them since they're the folks you booked with (and good luck with that)

Reserved a car to be picked up at KLIA. Upon arrival nobody shows up. Checked with hotel staff only to realise there is no such car rental pick up counter as stated in booking confirmation. Ghosted by aftersales when asked to be refunded. Wasted 3 hours going round the airport in vain. Called the number indicated in booking confirmation slip but nobody answered. Get a rental car here if you are feeling rich, and ready to be cheated. Otherwise RUN as far away from Rentalcars.com as you possibly can! Their tactics are advertising cheap rental cars to entice you but not so sure if they intend to deliver the car to you at all!

They charged 9 days in advance,but i didn't receive any car! Our flight was late in 2 hours and when we arrived they said they dont have a car because we were late!! On top of it they didnt return the money,they dont answer to phones,I don't know what to do

They did not hold our reservation. When we got there at the specified date and time, no car was available. Terrible. Would never use again

Terrible customer service unwilling or unable to answer even simple booking questions. All that matters is getting a high score in the survey (for doing nothing). Waste of time.

Just don’t. If you have any issues, going through rentalcars.com is such a pain. They will just throw some terms and conditions at you that there is no refund for anything, no matter if the car was returned over a week early. It’s better to book though the given rental place itself. It’s worth the few bucks more. Believe me. Also insurance wise.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET A REFUND OF $1757.53 FOR THE PAST 4 MONTHS. RUN A MILE YOU WILL NEVER GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE THAT CAN HELP IN ANY WAY, THEY WAIT FOR EMAILS FROM THERE FINANCE COMPANY BEFORE THEY CAN CONFIRM ANYTHING - SO IF THEY GET NO EMAIL- THEN YOU GET NO INFORMATION. APPARENTLY THEY CANNOT EVEN CONTACT FINANCE DEPT THEMSELVES OR ALLOW YOU TO CONTACT THEM. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM I CAN'T BELIEVE I FELL FOR THIS!!!!!! OVERCHARGED MASSIVELY. WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS WHY IS EUROPCAR IS TAKING BOOKING FROM THEM ANYWAY THEY SHOULD REFUSE TO PROP UP THESE RIP OFF MERCHANTS.

I made a reservation to pick up a car at Jacksonville Airport (FL) at 11 pm (Feb 2023) and paid it in advance ($227 USD) just to ensure I had no issues with a night arrival. My flight arrived at 11:25 pm. When I got to the counter, the rental car agency said they had no cars available because of some military convention most of the day. In fact, none of the rental car agencies at the airport had any cars. I showed them my prepaid rental receipt/voucher, but since I rented through Rentalcars.com they asked me to contact Rentalcars.com to explain the situation, and I would get a refund because they did not have any available cars. I had to contact Rentalcars.com several times through online chat, phone calls, and email correspondence to ask for my refund. After they verified all the information I provided, they refused (June 2023) to refund my money because my flight arrived 25 minutes past the reservation time. In over 35 years of renting cars, I have never had an issue with arriving an hour before or an hour after, let alone for 25 minutes!!! I have to agree with other reviews when they say Rentalcars.com does not care about customer service or customer satisfaction, but only about making a buck. I will never even consider using their services again!

won't stay d behind their commitment or their partners commitment. was overcharged by dollar car rental partner of rentacar. they won't do nothing about it.they say it was a pay later rental which means no guarantee. I had to go to Portland to attend my mothers funeral so I rented a car from rentacar.com[partnered with dollar car rental] and they didn't have the vehicle I reserved. they gave me upgrade and charged me $300,00 for it . have been charged for upgrade because they did not have vehicle that was reserved . I was overcharged for rental because of upgrade and rentacar refused to help me get a refund. if you want what you reserve don't ever rent thru rentacar.com they don't stand behind their agreements'

Horrible company! I strongly advise you not to rent from these scammers. Go directly to the car rental companies you would be doing yourself a favor!

I rented a car with them through lastminute. They sent me instructions to pick up the car with a credit or debit card. At the airport, they refused to give me the car because they only wanted the credit card. I asked for a full refund, and they denied it. Even though their own customer service confirmed to me that the debit card was possible following their terms and conditions. this is their answer: "We inform you that there is no refund option, we can no longer provide further assistance in this case. I can assure you that we have considered the points you have raised. However, although I understand that it is a disappointment, we cannot change our decision." the points I raised were that I have been denied the card even if I follow their instructions to the letter. I am now going via legal channels!!
