I ordered a dress from River Island for my bachelorette party. I waited very excitedly for it to arrive all the way from England as I am in America. When I got to me, they had sent me the wrong item. It was a men’s extra large T-shirt. When I first contacted them about this, they try to make me pay for the return when they were the ones who made the mistake. After talking to multiple customer service agents they provided me with a return slip to mail it back to them free of charge. I mailed the return back to them (the returning item was the incorrect item that they sent me instead of the dress). It has since arrived, and I have gotten confirmation email that it has arrived at their facility. Yet I still do not have a refund for the dress that I ordered, and was never actually sent. And I still have a charge of over 100 from them on my account from some thing that they never actually provided and I still don’t have a refund. I originally placed my order in December. It is currently April. I’ve talk to multiple customer service representatives with them. None have helped. I have never in my life had such abysmal service.

I have been a long time customer of river island. Recently I had an order left in an unauthorised unsafe place, the tracking confirms this with text and a photo. When I got home the goods were not there. Initially customer services were helpful and said they would process a refund. A week later I chased this up and was told they need to start an investigation, which is fine I have nothing to hide but it would have been better if this was actioned initially when I informed them a week prior. I then called customer services 3/4 times in the following weeks as the emails were going unanswered or taking days to get a reply and when I did it seems as if they hadn't read the evidence/ emails and we're just default responding , we are happy it's been delivered. Everytime I called I was told the people answering the emails are only contactable through email and I cannot speak to them (customer services) about it or the people dealing with it or a manager. They are uncontactable to the public. Even though they are not reading the emails properly so I needed to discuss it. Yes you read that right I cannot speak to anyone who will listen or help. After a few weeks I had an email again saying that they are happy it's been delivered (to an unauthorised unsafe place), no refund will be provided (no acknowledgement of the facts) and if it does 'show up' I cannot return anything and they are following up with fraud and authorities (again I will assist in anyway I can with this as I am telling the truth) and no more contact will be logged. I must say I am shocked with the service overall, not only the outcome but the tone of the emails, the level of professionalism via email and calls, the fact you cannot speak to anyone via call and the response times. Their goods are actually great which is why I had been a long time customer but I advise you only purchase in store. I just wouldn't want anyone else to have this distressing situation. I also note when looking at places to leave this review that all independent reviewers seems to have a much lower service rating than what's on here ... Strange

I ordered some chunky boots for my daughters birthday which i never received, after checking the tracking my parcel was left in my front garden (plant pot) with out authorisation & wasn't secure. I contacted river island & they told me that they did not identify anything that would explain why i didn't receive my order, so the fact that river island find it acceptable for parcels to be left unsecure & unauthorised is very worrying. River island are now refusing to give my money back or send me a replacement (DISGRACE) so had no choice in contacting my bank to explain & they have told me that this is a non compliant delivery as all delivery's must be delivered properly ie, parcel clearly being handed to customer with door open (in photo) or customer authorising parcel being left in a safe place on couriers website & none of these have been complied with so the fact that river island are saying this is SHOCKING. My bank are currently investigating the matter to retrieve my money back but anyone reading this review i would think twice about ordering from river island as they are a (DISGRACE) with rude arrogant customer service advisors!!

I have ordered something and paid for next day delivery, I was expecting to get my delivery next day not 3rd or 4rd day otherwise I would waith for free delivery in 5 days !then I received amail that my order is gone come estimated in 4 days since I place the order completely cheating just to take you’re money and I was call the customer service to tell them I expect my order to come next day that’s what says on websites then hi said wait till 3rd day wtf I’ve paid for next day delivery cheaters be aware wend u place you’re order next day delivery it wouldn’t come !

Gender neutral party wear. I am 25 Yr old male and had arranged to shop at RI Manchester with two female co-workers for my outfit for Christmas party. Unfortunately due to illness they couldn't make it. So they rang me and RI ahead with ideas. At store nothing was too much trouble I was able to try multiple outfits with assistance and positive feedback from staff. I finally decided on silver body top trousers and shorts,depending on shoes. Thanks to kind assistance of RI staff I will attend this years Christmas party with new found confidence.

The worst customer services experience ever. They delivered my item very late so I emailed their customer services team for a refund on my delivery fee. I used the web form on their website to send my request as I couldn’t find a contact email address. I got an automated email back saying I could expect a reply within 24 hours. 5 days later I still have no reply. I email again, I contact their social media team, I email another one - all attempts at contact completely and totally IGNORED. It gets to 8 days without any contact and I decide enough is enough. I spend an hour on hold to customer services after being told I’m ‘1st in the queue’ at the start of the call. I speak with the rudest girl with the biggest attitude. When I explain the situation she tries to tell me I’ve not sent any emails and must have typed the wrong address. When I explained that I used the web form on the river island website - and suggested that must mean their link is broken - she agreed ‘well the web form must be broken then’. When I told her I’d also had automated responses from the river island email address she didn’t know how to respond, stumbled on her words, and her attitude became even worse. She gave me the email address for customer services - which is the same email address I’ve been being ignored on - to send a complaint to. I did that 2 days ago now and still no contact from the team - but I have been sent 2 emails from river island requesting feedback on ‘how their customer services team did’. It’s honestly excruciatingly embarrassing to run a business this way. No wonder river island are going under! If anyone wants to contact someone at river island - the CEO email is will.kernan@river-island.com - I’ve contacted him in the hopes that he gets annoyed enough by customer emails that he actually sorts out his company’s customer services. Because they are AWFUL. I’m on day 9 and still nothing from customer services except a request for feedback. I’ll never, ever use river island again. I hadn’t used them for years anyway because of how dated they’ve become but I figured I’d buy some work clothes. I won’t be making the mistake again.

Paid for express shipping, then took over two weeks to get here. I had other orders from the UK get here much faster, so I’m not sure what their issue is. Didn’t even ship for 4 business days (it was supposed to *arrive* in 4 business days. Sizing chart was WAY off, about 3 sizes too big. Then when I tried to make a return it is unavailable to me, I keep getting a message that says my return request is unavailable. Customer service won’t do anything about it at all, just keeps sending me the same link to return it (that doesn’t work). DO NOT waste your money here! I’m out $100+!

I ordered 2 pairs of jeans and yet again they fit like a glove. I struggle to find jeans that fit as I’m quite short So pleased with the products and services I’ve received, as always Only 2 days wait on standard delivery as well

They refuse to give me a refund. I sent two orders in one bag. They don't know how to track down the bag. The return department sucks, how could they just dismiss the other items? I received partial refund for the return label of one order with 3 items but in still missing refund for 5 items. They refuse to give me the money. I sent emails, I called them, I emailed the CEO and nothing. Five year olds are running this company!!!!! Horrible customer service!. I have never had any problems with ASOS or any other company. Avoid head aches, you have been warned!

Spend £120 mount ago, wearing clouts just 3or4 times , no even I can not wear it, that bad it became , so all rubbish .I been in shop, explain the matter , needed the return unswear and unweaned shirt , they refuse to take it back, due to more then mount I purchased it. What the shame. Cheap quality .

Shocking discrimination in your Wigan branch, apparently the manager Susan Cain, thinks the disability discrimination laws don’t apply to her and her staff, iv been on the receiving end of her blatant disregard for the law, but since then I’m seeing countless posts on social media that it’s still happening. I did ring head office to complain and you tried to shift the blame onto myself, maybe that’s how head office expect your employees to behave, shocked and disappointed

I tried to exchange 2 T-shirts at the White rose centre today that were Christmas presents, to be told they would do noting to help me as it's past 14 days since they were purchased in December. I didn't want refunds, only an exchange. I've been online to read their Christmas returns policy which says I have until 14th of January. However the manager refused to help. TERRIBLE custom service!
