“The whole process from start to finish was very smooth and straightforward. I would highly recommend laser eye surgery with Mr Anderson. He was very patient in answering my questions at the initial consultation and I ultimately opted for SMILE treatment. The day of the procedure was very easy. I was in the theatre for no more than half an hour. By the evening of surgery my vision was extraordinarily improved. The drop regime is quite busy for a few days but this is no big deal. “I was diagnosed with cataracts and advised by my optician to seek urgent medical help particularly to my left eye. My optician referred me to Mr Anderson. I have to say the experience from the first to the last consultation was fantastic. I opted to have both eyes done at the same time and tri focal lenses inserted , which makes me glasses free. The operation , although daunting for me, was quick and painless apart from a gritty feeling which disappeared quite quickly with the drops. Even after a couple of days my sight had massively improved, although strong sunlight and bright lights were uncomfortable at first, but sunglasses helped. All staff that I came into contact with couldn’t have been more friendly and reassuring. I have to thank everyone of them for their care and consideration. “I had my bi-lateral eye surgery in June and am delighted with the results. I must admit to being terrified about going for it but very relieved when I was able to have a general anaesthetic for it to be done, which made the thought of it more bearable! I had my operation at the Nuffield Wessex and it really couldn't have been easier. Everyone was so nice and very re-assuring and I can truthfully say to anyone who is fearful - you just don't need to be! “I had my first cataract operation on my left eye under NHS in 2021. It didn't go well. My eye was not properly sealed, I phoned in to express some anxiety about about my deteriorating vision, but was told this was normal. After 10 days I went for my follow up and found my eye was leaking and had deflated.This was very concerning. I went for several further emergency appointments and my eye recovered. After that I decided to go private for my second operation and was recommended to David Anderson. It was a very different experience, comfortable and reassuring. I could tell my second operation had gone well from the smooth feeling under the eye lid and immediate improvement in vision. I was hyper vigilant after my previous experience and thought my eye was watering excessively. I phoned up and I was told to immediately come in for further examination. I was reassured my op. was fine, but I may have an allergy to the eye drops. My prescription was immediately changed. “Fabulous friendly and very professional staff. I delayed having laser surgery on my eyes because detached retina's in both eyes over 10 years ago had left me with one fully working eye and I was reluctant to risk damaging that eye further, but David Anderson couldn't have been more helpful. He took time to go through all the options and the risks involved and suggested that he treated the eye in which I have the poorest vision first, just so we could make sure there were no issues. There weren't it healed well and my second eye was lasered three months later. Over a year later my vision is still great and I am so glad I went ahead and had the surgery. “After years of umming and ahhhing, I decided to finally have my eyes lasered. For over 20 years I have worn contact lenses and glasses. I was fed up of ordering contact lenses, wearing glasses and swapping to prescription sunglasses (let alone making sure I always packed enough when I went away). As a nurse, I have always been cautious, as your sight is so important! To say I was nervous and anxious is an understatement. My optician advised Anderson Eye Care.
