“I engaged Millennium Legal primarily because of their competitive pricing, which at face value appeared cost-effective compared to other providers. However, from the outset, the experience has been disappointing and progressively worse.
A major issue is the lack of transparency. It was not clearly disclosed upfront that the legal work would be outsourced to a third-party firm. After paying a £280 initial deposit, my matter was passed to Ross Coates, at which point the process became fragmented and frustrating. There was no clear explanation of timelines for contract issue, exchange, or settlement, and basic process questions went unanswered.
Communication with Ross Coates was particularly poor. I was provided with contact details for multiple individuals rather than a single point of accountability, which resulted in responsibility being deflected rather than owned. Their standard out-of-office responses stated replies could take 5–7 business days, which is unacceptable in a conveyancing context. Millennium Legal must remain accountable for the service quality of the firms they appoint — outsourcing does not remove responsibility.
Millennium Legal’s own communication has also been lacking. KYC checks were conducted online, but there was no confirmation of completion or guidance on next steps. Later, after significant delay and chasing, I was advised the original firm was no longer acting and the file had been handed back to Millennium Legal, again with no proactive management or clarity.
Further concerns arose when Millennium Legal attempted to introduce additional overseas charges after the engagement had commenced, despite the fact that my Australian residency was known from the outset and formed part of the KYC process. These costs were not disclosed in the original quote.
Most concerning, however, is Millennium Legal’s approach to online reviews. I received a written offer from Millennium Legal promising a £25 Amazon Gift Card in exchange for leaving a Trustpilot review, with instructions to send a screenshot of the review to receive the code. I complied fully. However, once the review reflected my genuine and factual experience rather than positive feedback, the promised gift card was not provided. The offer did not state that it was conditional on the review being positive. This raises serious questions about the integrity and transparency of their review practices.
Overall, while Millennium Legal’s pricing may look attractive initially, the lack of transparency, poor communication, unclear timelines, shifting costs, fragmented accountability, and questionable review practices have made this a frustrating and time-consuming experience. I would caution others to look beyond headline pricing and consider the real cost in stress, delay, and service quality.”
