“I instructed Millennium legal through Jackie who seem to act as a third party and put me with an incompetent called Ash who failed in all regards, to list all the unprofessional failings by Right legal would turn this into a book! He appears to have lied over emails regarding receiving contracts to both myself and the estate agents. He never returned calls from his giff-gaff phone. All parties involved complained again and again over his inability to respond or keep to any dates provided. Ash added 3 months to my sale and purchase prior to me dropping him and finding a competent solicitor who has managed to catch up after this dead weight. I have not received a refund to date for the work paid for that Ash never completed. I am currently in the process of bringing a legal case to recover all costs included the fees outstanding. I will contact the ombudsman and other points of authority and only hope this dyer warning may save other unfortunates such as myself from this disaster.”
“If I could give a zero star review I would. This company has done nothing to progress my searches in the nearly 15 weeks of receiving instruction (they were instructed on the 16th of December 2024). My case started with Maureen Park of the searches team at Millennium. 12 weeks later I was then assigned Amrit Panesar of Spencer Lockwood. This was incredibly confusing as I now did not know who to get my updates from. Both appeared to be giving me updates on the searches and oftentimes it was conflicting. Maureen said she needed paperwork from my seller's solicitors to commence the searches, while Amrit seemed to suggest that the searches were underway. With all of the delays, poor communication and lack of proactivity, I now will not meet the deadline of completion to avoid Stamp Duty Land Tax.
This company is not truthful, not proactive and due to their own flaws they are now refusing a refund of the searches money now that I have cancelled despite not actually having started the searches. This is due to their terms and conditions however I am in the process of arguing that, why should their terms and services apply when they have done nothing for that money.
My seller's solicitors have been incredibly patient as they said they had sent the required paperwork to commence the searches 3 times with no communication or acknowledgement to either confirm receipt or to signpost to the correct inbox. I refuse to believe that this is their fault as my new solicitors received the paperwork within 48 hours of me switching solicitors and have started the searches.
Millennium operates under the umbrella of Ackroyd Legal and appears to take on clients to an unmanageable, chaotic extent, then outsourcing their work to other firms all operating under Ackroyd Legal. The pricing is used to entice you in but there is a reason it is so cheap. It is a bottom of the barrel service. They don't care about client deadlines, it's a matter of as and when they get to your case. They will not chase for things, they will not communicate with you, you have to chase them for the bare minimum and as a first time property buyer that is infuriating.
This entire ordeal has been mentally taxing and, having had my complaints been brought to the attention of a manager, Connor McGrath at Millennium, I am being ignored yet again. I feel that I have been patient enough, holding off on reviewing Millennium's disservice until I could judge the quality of their outcome but it is clear that they will not deliver on that either so now I will be escalating my complaint to the Legal Ombudsman.”
