“This terrible company owes me £19, but refuses to pay.
This is money that I deposited and wagered, after I was told by them that I was fully KYC verified.
They allowed me to deposit around £60, and withdraw £20. When I started another withdrawal for £19 they suddenly wanted enhanced verification, and demanded photographs of my debit card showing 10 of the 16 numbers, and the expiry date, and the back of the card.(BE AWARE: WHEN YOU PHOTO THE BACK OF YOUR CARD, ALL OF THE LONG NUMBER CAN BE SEEN IN REVERSE AND INDENTED.
Barclays bank staff informed me that this was a security risk, and that people shouldn't even send photos of the card showing the last 4 numbers- ever!
In order to help prevent money laundering, bookmakers are required, by law, to ask for enhanced verification when people wager in excess of £1000, or win £££.
However, Novibet are pretending that they have to ask ordinary customers for sensitive financial data, and citing their terms and conditions, which state that they *can* ask, and not that they have to ask.
So, Novibet basically hold people's money to ransom in return for data that banks tell us never to give out. They are basically forcing people to sell their private data with money that doesn't belong to them, because it already belongs to the customer, in the name of laws which do NOT apply to people wagering and withdrawing paltry sums.
Their customer services staff have wasted far more than £19 in man hours writing nonsense emails to me where they copy/paste their irrelevant terms and conditions, and the sad fact is that in my ignorance I sent them a photo showing the first 2 and last 4 digits, but they still refuse to release my funds.
FORGET their internal complaints, they reached their decision in under a week, showing that they haven't got much to do and didn't put much thought into it.
Their registered address is in the Isle of Mann so they can't be sued using small claims online, but only paper forms.
In refusing to return a mere £19 Novibet is acting like a company with cash flow problems. I'm guessing that the Covid situation has affected them really badly.
USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK.
