“I was excited to order these as a solution to my daughters picky eating habits. Unfortunately she didn't eat a single thing out of the 7 meals we bought. We, the parents, had to eat them or throw in the bin. They tasted fine for us adults just did not solve the problem we've got.”

It can take up to 15 exposures to get little ones to accept a new taste - new flavours and textures can take time for them to get used to! However, if your child is constantly rejecting something then perhaps we would suggest choosing another meal that they may be more familiar with instead.
We work closely with our children’s dietitian to create meals that are not only nutritionally balanced but have the right balance of flavour in order to introduce herbs and spices and other ingredients to children’s developing palates. As with all things with our little ones, their desire for more or less flavour is hugely varied. Being a small business, we have to try and find a flavour profile that suits most children, so much so that we've had to develop a fussy range as even our core range can be too textured/flavoursome for the palate of some children.

“Unfortunately, my 18month old doesn’t like any of the meals at all! I was really excited to try these and was disappointed to see find that, the quality of the meals wasn’t great (1) lentil bolognese - lentils very hard and undercooked, also very bland and no bolognese sauce?! 2) cottage pie - very dry, no sauce at all and bland despite following cooking times exactly, 3) broccoli tots - super mushy and fell apart. My toddler isn’t fussy but she just hasn’t liked anything at all and we bought 8 different products to try! I was looking for meals that I can make in a hurry during busy days and when we are out but sadly, these meals won’t work for us. Perhaps if your kids aren’t accustomed to much flavour yet, these may work for you but I feel they could be improved.”

We're really sorry to hear that you weren't happy with 3 of our products; we have passed this feedback on to our chefs who are constantly improving our meals and who will look at these issues. Our little boy suffers from a form of palsy that makes chewing and swallowing difficult for him so planning meal times was a nightmare. These meals have been a Godsend for us. “My daughter is a very very fussy 2 year old who very rarely eats 1 meal a day. I tried these meals and have managed to get her to eat the chilli con carne and mild chicken curry on many occasions! I am very happy with these products and now buy them regularly so I know she has eaten a decent meal. The portion sizes and presentation are great. Also she will not eat rice but because it’s hidden within the sauce she eats it in these pots. The fact that you can just take them out the freezer and pop them in the microwave are great also. Very happy with pots for tots!!”

“We have made two online orders and both times have been very impressed with the quality of the meals. They are so convenient to have in the freezer for a day where you are running late or where plans change etc and you don't have time to cook. We also sent a couple to her grandparents house when she was staying there for a weekend so they wouldn't have to cook too much - they are a great option for this too.
Our daughter first tried them when she was around 9 months and is still enjoying them at 13 months.
Initially we found the portion sizes too big but since she turned 12 months she will now eat a whole one.
I also think it's given us confidence to be more adventurous with our home cooking for her because each pots for tots meal has so many ingredients in them, especially vegetables that we thought she may not like!”
