“I was very disappointed with my experience.
I ordered two introductory offer meals and tried several dishes, but my son wouldn’t eat any of them. As a result, most of the food had to be thrown away, which was especially frustrating after spending £60.
The delivery service also fell short. I live in a block of flats and, being 9 months pregnant with a 14-month-old toddler, I really needed the order brought to my door. Instead, the driver left the box at the building entrance, which was extremely unhelpful.
Overall, I’m very dissatisfied and will not be ordering again.”
We’re truly sorry to hear that you've not been happy with your Pots for Tots experience so far. It can take 10-15 tries for babies and young children to accept new tastes and textures.
We're sorry about your delivery experience. We trust DPD to deliver your orders safely and follow their delivery guidelines, but once your order is with them, we unfortunately have limited input.
If you would like further assistance, please don't hesitate to get in touch with our customer care team.
“Wouldn’t recommend - chicken meat was an awful colour looked like it had gone off wouldn’t feed it my child. I’ve chucked them in the bin as it put me off”
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Stephanie. We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience with the chicken. The quality and safety of our meals are our top priorities, and we take such concerns very seriously. We’d love the opportunity to address this further and ensure that you have a better experience with us in the future.
Please to reach out to our customer service team so we can assist you.
“The meals are great but I was shocked that the packaging included dry ice! My partner naturally assumed it would be normal ice pack (such is the norm with packaging with food products) and I nearly ended up permanently scarred (indeed it did blister my shoulder) because he tried to put some down my top. While I appreciate my partner was being silly, given these products are for the toddler market, I am strongly of the view that this is dangerous. For the safety of future consumers (particularly children), I'd recommend you look at other ice packaging options and do not use dry ice.”
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're very sorry to hear about your experience. We completely understand your concern and want to reassure you that we take safety extremely seriously.
We use dry ice in our packaging to keep meals frozen during transit, which is standard practice across the frozen food industry. That said, dry ice must always be handled with care, as it can cause cold burns if touched directly. Our packaging is labelled with handling guidance, including the need to use gloves or avoid direct skin contact, but we're truly sorry if this wasn’t clear or prominent enough in this case.
Your feedback highlights an important point, especially for busy parents who are unpacking quickly, and we’re reviewing our packaging and labelling as a priority to ensure that safety warnings are more obvious going forward.
Thank you again for raising this, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to our customer care team if there's anything we can do to help further.
“I have a very foodie 2yo girl that eats almost everything you cook. I wanted to have something in the freezer for when I am in a rush and can't cook. I have ordered the veggi 10 meals + snaks bundle. Sadly my little one didn't like any of the food from Pots for Tods but she had some of the snacks (blueberry muffins/cheese bites/oat bites) and said "yaki" to the rest. I have given the doubles to a neighbour hoping that it won't go to waste but her child didn't want to eat it either. We also don't use microwave and was difficult to heat it up in the oven or stove. A big no from us. Won't order again.”
We’re sorry to hear that your little one didn’t enjoy our meals. We know that every child has their own unique tastes, and we truly appreciate you giving us a try. Our goal is to provide healthy, convenient options for parents while making mealtime enjoyable for children.
We’d love to learn more about your experience and see if there’s anything we can do to make it right. Please feel free to reach out to our team - your feedback is incredibly valuable to us.
“I really like the food but I find the subscription service is very problematic. I prefer to buy one off which isn’t allowed on tots for pots. If you opt out of the subscription, and check that you’re not opting back in, somehow you’ll end up reciting another order less than a week later and all your subscriptions preferences are opted in.
It’s happened to me multiple times now and the first time I assumed, okay just a mistake I’ll make sure I don’t do that again, and the other times I’ve made extra effort to ensure I don’t do that, and I’m now sat with 6 months worth of food and no freezer to store it in.”
Hi Lainy,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
I can see that our Customer Care team have just responded to your email to explain this, however, just to confirm - at checkout we offer two options; one-time purchase, and subscribe. If one-time purchase is selected then a subscription will not be created and you will just receive one box.
If 'subscribe' is selected, then the option to choose your delivery frequency is shown and you would then also be notified at the next step that you are signing up to a regular subscription. In addition, we then notify customers twice before a new charge is created (3 days prior and one day prior) to allow time to make any changes, whether that is delivery frequency or cancelling the subscription entirely.
We're sorry that you've found the website hasn't been clear enough and we will pass this on to our development team.
Best wishes,
Pots for Tots Customer Care Team
“I was a bit disappointed with my recent order. It arrived late, and two of the pots I received weren’t what I ordered. The portions also felt too small for older children; one pot, for example, only had a tiny pinch of rice along with the food, much less than I expected from the pictures. Overall, the portions didn’t feel worth the price.”
Hi Zara,
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Your feedback means a great deal to us, and we truly appreciate your support.
Our orders are always dispatched on a Wednesday evening for delivery on a Thursday. I've checked your tracking and it looks that your order was delivered on the morning of Thursday 24th October, but do let us know if that isn't the case and we will investigate.
We sincerely apologise for any disappointment you’ve experienced with the portion sizes of the meals in your order. We recognise that there are growth and developmental differences between infants under 12 months, and those over 12 months. Babies have very high nutritional requirements, and as these start to slow considerably from 18-24 months, it means that our 200g portion size should be suitable for both a one-year-old and also a five-year-old - this is approved by our Children's Dietitian, Lucy Upton.
However, it sounds as though you have received a meal that was not up to our usual standard and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Our customer care team will be in touch shortly to discuss this further.
Best wishes,
Pots for Tots Customer Care Team
“Unfortunately my daughter (2yo) was really unimpressed by Pots for Tots and would basically leave them uneaten. I personally found them lacking in flavour too, so didn’t even want to eat her leftovers.
I’ve seen your responses to other reviews saying that it can take up to 15 exposures for a child to like a new flavour but please don’t give me that - my 2yo prefers my flavourful meals from Frive more than these!!
In addition, the delivery partner was hopeless. I ended up receding a Thursday delivery on Friday at 8pm and the food was defrosted, leaking, and smelly”
Hi Claire,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand how frustrating it can be when let down by delivery partners. It frustrates us too as we have to rely on third-party delivery partners where we have no control over the outcome sometimes so it falls short of the quality of service we would expect for our customers too. However, our team picked this up very quickly and was more than happy to issue a full refund for your order.
We work closely with our children’s dietitian to create meals that are not only nutritionally balanced but have the right balance of flavour in order to introduce herbs and spices and other ingredients to children’s developing palates. As with all things with our little ones, their desire for more or less flavour is hugely varied. Being a small business, we have to try and find a flavour profile that suits most children, so much so that we've had to develop a fussy range as even our core range can be too textured/flavoursome for the palate of some children.
That said, it's great that your little one enjoys an extensive range of flavours - have you tried adding some additional herbs and spices to the remaining meals in your order? We hear that some parents like to add sides, cheese or other little extras they know their children like to eat.
We hope this helps but if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
