A really dissapointing experience overall. These are lovely knives and totally fit for purpose, however the packaging / service was the major let down here. Firstly the knives turned up very quickly / prompt. That soon went to dissapointment when I opened the package and I saw the sellotape stuck to the wooden presentation box. I immediately called to company and they advised me to wipe it with nail polish or white vinegar. Neither worked and I expressed concern at removing the remnants of the sticky tape residue with using a harsh product such as nail varnish remover which was clearly going to change the colour of the wood!! Reason given for using tape is they have to when transporting knives. Not a good excuse as you would never put sellotape or any tape on wood, as it can sweat and obvously stick and leave awful marks. There is also a tight cardboard cover on the box which you have to rip to get off so this keeps the lid firmly on. Also, the cardboard could be placed the other way if there is such a concern on the knives falling out. I work in overseas moving, and this is an absolute No no to put sticky tape on wooden items! A replacement box would be in the post I was assured and in turn I would send the tape damaged box back. 7 working days passed and I called again only to be told they actually hadn't sent the replacement box out due to an error on their part. This finally arrived a couple of days later. The box once again had tape marks on it, as they had removed it to send the empty box to me! In the end I kept the lid and kept the original base which was also broken as two of the wooden dividers had broken off. The whole feature of these knives in additionl to the lovely knives themselves if the presentation box they come in, so the whole experience has been tarnished by the poor handling / packing / follow up etc. I had several other things I wanted to order from this business, including other knife sets - however, I do not want the hassle of tape being stuck to other wooden items and ruining it, so I will now order elsewhere.
