Summary: Bought this so I could control the teleprompter software on my iPad using physical keys. It works perfectly. The build quality is really, REALLY good. The body is machined metal and has a nice weight to it. The keys are excellent and can be easily changed if you want to have silent ones instead of clicky. And since it uses an RP2040 you can program it in C++, Micropython or CircuitPython. Details: I followed the instructions and tried to use the Arduino IDE so I could tweak the demo code to send the key strokes I needed. I had no luck with this at all, I couldn't even get the untweaked demo to compile. But this is the big advantage of using something that is based on an RP2040, you can just load your IDE of choice.. I just reset it, and put CircuitPython 9.1 on it instead and then used the HID components in there to make it mimic a USB keyboard. Worked perfectly. I have it set up so the middle key sends the keystroke for Play/Pause, and the left and right send the keystrokes for Prev & Next Marker. If I hold down the centre key while pressing the outer keys, it speeds up or slows down the playback. I plug it into my iPad and it works immediately. Perfect! The kit comes with Ctrl+V+C keys, plus a set with clear caps, so I just printed off some labels with the play/pause symbol and a + and a - on them and fitted those. It looks really good. BTW it's got 2MB of flash same as a standard Pico so plenty of room.
