Last year I discovered paddle boarding. I spend many sunny summer days as a novice on the lakes if Cumbria, hiring a board. This year I decided to buy one.
Today, mid May 2022, I took my Wave Woodie out on her maiden voyage. An almost deserted Bassenthwaite Lake in Cumbria under a stunning blue sky, my first launch into freedom took place.
Inflation, though not the claimed five minutes, was easier than expected and I was soon on the water. Using the SUP case as storage, and buying an extra bungee cord for the rear (seat) fittings, I had ample capacity for my clothes, towel, etc.
The breeze blowing North up the lake made my progress easy but concerned about the battle back to my launch site, I didn't venture too far.
Woodie performed well. Deflation was easy and rapid on the grassy lakeside. I have no negative feedback but I feel a zipped storage pocket in the SUP case would be useful.
