This is a beautiful grinder, which produces an amazingly consistent grind, with a low level of fines. I upgraded from a Porlex (manual) and Wilfa Svart grinder to the Ode. I have been having some of the best coffee I’ve ever made using this grinder. A lot of people believe it doesn’t grind fine enough for single-cup filter brewing. I’ve found that I’ve had to significantly re-evaluate and adjust my technique, bht I have not had an issue with any under-extraction and haven’t hit the limit on grind adjustment. I wonder if people have had a lot more experience with grinders producing a wider particle spread, and therefore their old grind setting (visibly) is much finer. I just think the cup profile is so much cleaner and clearer than I’ve ever been able to make before. Sweetness and acidity are a lot more pronounced, and I can finally experience what is meant by a ‘bright cup’. I almost didn’t go for this grinder due to the concerns with grind size, but I’m thoroughly glad I did. The single-dosing workflow, quietness and grind speed all make for a much more enjoyable coffee brewing experience.
