ANDREW G
I bought Bruco to hopefully fix an invasion of Box Caterpillar on a 6 year old Box hedge. I started spraying early April 2022 and then each week as it was warming up and any caterpillars that had overwintered between leaves that have been "sewn" together start to emerge. 4 weeks later and there are good signs of the caterpillars being killed. I have added some photos as I had no idea what to look out for or expect - so not sure how clear this will be. The pictures show the telltale leaves closed together which the caterpillars overwinter in. Then the silk pouches they make to overwinter inside the closed leaves. Then a pouch I picked out and pulled apart before spraying - inside a very alive and hungry caterpillar. Then after three to four weeks of spraying, I found a lot of empty silk pouches and a few with very dead caterpillars inside. I will keep spraying for a few more weeks. Then I will put up a pheromone trap to catch male moths that might fly in from neighbouring areas - and continue spraying. BUT THE SUMMARY IS THAT THIS STUFF APPEAR TO WORK WELL - AND HOPEFULLY MY BOX HEDGE IS SAVED FROM DESTRUCTION. This may be an ongoing battle!
