When the time came to replace my Timex watch I was looking for something different. I searched the web and looked at many brands and price points. I decided to take a deeper look at Stuhrling and look at their offerings. I found a plethora of interesting styles and features coming in at various prices. I really liked the Aviator line and decided to purchase the Aviator 699 Quartz 44mm silver case watch with the tan wristband. I wanted a relatively in-expensive with not only time but also day and date features. I think the "DAY" display is very unique and different from any other watch I had looked at. The tiny red dot for the day indicator is not real easy to see for people with limited vision, but its there. It was a little difficult to get the "Day" display set correctly while adjusting with the crown because it kind of slipped and would rotate through the dates and like something was slipping internally. I have had the watch for about a week now and it seems to keep accurate time, day and date as well. The price of the watch was $100 and so far am pleased with this purchase. How it performs in time will only tell. The watch looks great and seems to function properly. I have pretty large wrists and usually when buy a new watch the wristband is usually too short, as was the case with this watch. The provided leather band was of very high quality, but it was too short in length to fit my wrist. I purchased a longer leather NATO style along with a slide on dial compass and I think it looks great. I am very happy with this purchase.
