“I love Electric Bear and have had nothing but excellent stouts and porters from them. However, this Chocolate and Crystallised Ginger was advertised as "Packed full of crystallised ginger". No, it wasn't. In fact, I didn't get any ginger whatsover either in the nose or the taste. Not a jot. It was an OK stout - not spectacular, but OK. However, I was really looking forward to the wham of crystallised ginger and was highly disappointed. It won't stop me buying more EB stouts, but my expectations have now been lowered.”

“It’s like an explosion of sweet ginger, then nothing. Just bitter milk. I had all the cans bar a half that I shared. I wouldn’t buy again.”

“This really is a very good beer - well put together, full bodied and tasty -but I didn’t really get the ginger. I know that crystallised ginger isn’t anywhere near as harsh as “raw ginger” but I was expecting a bit more. Perhaps it is a bit subtle for my abused taste buds. Great name by the way and always a pleasure to pop into the brewery to pick it up.”
