How are the Handle and Fittings?
Boromir's sword has always been one of my favorite Peter Johnsson designs from the LotR films. As such I am excited whenever I see a sword inspired by it brought to market, especially for a reasonable price. This sword is good overall, and clearly inspired by it, but there are differences between what's pictured on the website and the actual end product. Namely the guard is shorter and had less twists in it, as well as there is no brass/bronze colored ring inlays on the quillons or pommel. The pommel has the rings where such would be, but they are simply empty instead. The pommel is also not quite shaped like the picture, being less elongated and smaller overall. That said it's a nice little sword, and I do mean little. It's bordering on being a short sword, in all honestly, but overall I do like it. The scabbard it came with is nice enough, with some decorative designs on it. They aren't perfectly centered, but that comes with handmade objects at every level prices. The blade itself is very nice with crisp lines and good geometry. The tip especially is very acutely pointed. I'd say it's worth it if you like the general design, but don't expect a perfect replica of the movie sword.
