We removed the turf from two areas of lawn to plant wild flower mix. I was very pleased with the mix of flowers and the succession of varieties. The bees and other pollinators were busy in the patch. Eventually everything succumbed to the drought. I thought that was it for this year but after a little rain there has been a late flowering of a few marigolds and some cosmos which brought a little life back to the area. I intend to increase the area devoted to wild flowers. My neighbour is planning a wild flower patch too.
