We arrived at LHR 45 min early and called 247 to see if perhaps we could be picked up earlier (since they track flights) but the driver picked us up at the originally planned time, which was fine. The driver was courteous but we were disappointed when we found out he wasn't aware that we made arrangements in the booking to spend some time at Leeds Castle on the way to our hotel in Canterbury. Had I not mentioned it to him, we probably would have missed it. He didn't have the postal code even though I included it when I made the reservation (though the address didn't show up on the printed confirmation--maybe a glitch in their system). I confirmed in an email a few weeks earlier that a stop at Leeds Castle was okay to do for an hourly charge. It took a while for him to figure out how to get there as he was unfamiliar with the area. On top of that, he hardly spoke or understood any English. We were rather discouraged as this all took extra time. Then once we were on our way everything went better. We got to Leeds Castle and he waited there for us for two hours. Then when we arrived in Canterbury he stopped at an ATM so I could get cash for the transfer. He was a good driver and everything turned out fine after a little rocky start. We also used 247 for our transfer from Dover to Windsor. That driver spoke good English so we were able to communicate and have a nice chat with him along the way. He was also courteous and friendly. A negative thing about the transfer was that when he arrived at the cruise terminal he waited in his car for a while before getting out to look for us. He said he wasn't sure if the ship disembarked because there were hardly any people out there but he must not have realized it was a small ship (684 passengers) and they have staggered disembarkation so there would not have been a lot of people out there. It really would have been nice to come out of the terminal to see someone standing there with my name on a sign rather than having to walk back & forth, asking the terminal workers if they've seen someone from our transfer company. One other thing that bothered me was that the drive through the beautiful English countryside of Kent would have been so much more pleasant without hearing the awful techno music playing on the radio. I really thought he should have asked if we were okay with the music. I didn't say anything because I thought it probably helped him get through all the driving he does. He did let us know that he could make a stop for us if we needed one (i.e. bathroom break), so that was nice. This company did have some of the lowest quotes for transfers and they will get you from point A to point B but there might be some glitches along the way. It seems that their drivers might not have a wide range of experiences. I do recommend them but just be a little flexible.
