we arrived 30 mts in advance to the attraction, we waited 10mts only because we just needed to collect the real tickets.
Then there's the real queue to get into the london eye which was longer (fastrack queue) 20mts. So its ok for a morning in august.
The only thing you need to highlight is that the hour you book is not compulsory. I mean once they give you the tickets you can come anytime you want that day :)
