I had to upgrade to the beta to fix Android 9 slowdowns ... after 5 days of uptime the v2 (non-beta) would cause major slowdowns on my device, randomly. The Beta fixed that. Search forums for "Q: Android 9 on Pixel 3XL, other app UI hangs after 5 days of uptime?"
