I tried to get compensation for my 24 hour delay by using a template letter from Money Saving Expert’s web site & Thomson’s claimed exceptional circumstances. I then tried the discussing the issue with the civil aviation authority & wrote again to Thomson’s, to no avail. I saw some further court exchanges between Thomson’s & various customers in the media & decided to use Air Delay. All correspondence was over the internet & compensation was paid by Thomson’s after a few weeks. I have also already recommended Air Delay to other passengers who were on our flight.
