This is a really good farm shop. The quality of the produce is first class, quite pricey but this is always the case with farm shops and is expected for quality produce. Also has a nice array of gifts and ready prepared meals- again expensive but very nice. My only grumble about this place is their ‘ dog friendly’ persona- really it isn’t. You can only sit outside with your dog. Yesterday we called with 2 dogs hoping to have their brilliant breakfast, although it was the beginning of June it was freezing cold, windy and starting to rain- really not the weather to sit outside with side. A member of staff said we could eat in ‘ The Turkey Shed’ I think that’s what she said and pointed to a wooden cabin across the way, she then said - ‘ oh sorry it’s not open’ you can only stay outside- we didn’t bother. Given that this is a farm shop in quite a rural location I find this attitude to taking dogs inside quite odd. The restaurant is large enough to just have a section for dogs, most of the other establishments in the area do have the option. It’s a shame really as I poor weather they must lose a fair bit of trade.
