I`ve never had a dress made before but my birthday was coming up and I knew my husband was preparing a big celebration. I wanted to wear something special but I don`t particularly like shopping as I don`t often find clothes I like or they just don`t really fit me. My sister was a fashion fan and had a very good eye for clothes so she offered me to design a dress for me. Having thought about the idea I decided to give it a go. My sister prepared a few sketches and organised for us to see a dressmaker at Alterations Boutique. When we met with the dressmaker I immediately felt at ease, as she was lovey and friendly. We went thought the sketches, requirement and measurements. It was time to get some fabric for my dress. My sister of course offered to help. When I came back for my first fitting I tried on a calico version of the dress; it didn`t have much shape yet but I was assured it was work in progress. During the second fitting I tried the dress on for the first time and I feel in love with it. It fit me very well and complimented my figure unlike most of my dresses. I was asked to come back for a final fitting one week later. I tried the dress on again with a pair of new shoes and matching dressmaker for the joint effort of creating such a special piece. I absolutely love the whole experience.
