I didn`t have much luck with finding the right wedding dress. I considered having one made but then decide against it. My mother visited a few bridal boutiques with me and also agreed that none of the dresses looked like 'the one'. My mother mentioned she still had her wedding dress somewhere and I asked to see it as I had only ever seen it in the family album. I came round to her place that weekend and she managed to find the dress. As soon as I saw it I felt like I would be honored to wear it at my wedding. It was still in a good condition but obviously it needed to be cleaned and adjusted to fit me. It was made of beautiful silk and very delicate lace so had to be handled with care. I found a dry-cleaning company to handle the cleaning and they recommended taking it to Alterations Boutique for alterations. I emailed them some pictures of the dress and they booked me in for a consultation. Surprisingly, the dress didn`t need that much work but then I decided to adjust the neckline as well. It was an exciting project and I enjoyed having my fittings and seeing the progress. When my mother came with me to collect the dress and saw me in it she had tears in her eyes. The dressmaker adjusted the dress beautifully. She was a pleasure to work with as she listened to everything I said and followed any instruction. She also made everything very easy and smooth.
