*Expensive: Initial estimate is competitive and 'sucks you in'. Then I got the 40% mark-up for 'Restoration' and 'Repair' that mostly was not needed.
* Avoid at all costs! My £3,900 project, vintage car bumpers etc, had 3 pieces damaged and another 4 pieces poorly finished. One piece sanded/linished so much a hole was worn through and had gashes along the edge.
Of course, Ashford denied all responsibility and claimed they were damaged in transit. Really! A hole appeared during transit! Then accused me of damaging them just to try and re-claim my money!!!!!
Even went so far as to claim that they must have been damaged when I sent them, BUT – they were charging for restoration/repair!!! You could not make this up. Unbelievable! Even the good metal got blamed as being 'poor quality'.
*Their 'Awesome Team', by the way, seems to be only 'one person' who is extremely plausible and whom I think, in fact, is only a handler of parcels. The chrome plating seems to be sub-contracted to a local sub-standard company.
*Collection free they said! If so, why did they initially try to charge me?
*Their website is impressive, but the advertising material is very questionable and their own website reviews are suspiciously all very positive! ALSO- there is no provision for me to leave a review on Ashford's website. Strange don't you think.
*They are not "the best chrome plating in Ireland"! Why? because they are not in Ireland. They are English based.
I must stop myself at this point. I could write a book.
Would NOT recommend this Company. Lies followed by lies followed by denials!
I have photographic evidence of damage and poor-quality finish. My items are supposedly 'Triple Plated' - are they, I wonder? Maybe Ashford would want to use some of my photos on their Web for publicity purposes???????
