I just love going to the Aston Hotel. If you want tranquillity you have the perfect location. The weather seems also to be much better down Dumfries area. I've visited 4 or 5 times now, and find new places to visit every time. It's also ideal to visit the north of England or as a stopover further north or south. We ate in the restaurant and the choice was good and very fairly priced. The staff are certainly a great asset. Everyone on the reception desk has been more than helpful each time. The rooms are great too, spacious with very comfortable beds and the shower is fantastic. The view of Crichton Church is lovely and the gardens are well laid out. The grounds are ideal for a leisurely stroll, leading to further gardens , ideal for wedding photos
