The hotel is a short distance from the heart of Dumfries, set in lovely grounds. It's a shame they don't allow dogs as it they are perfect for a quick walk in the morning/evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the meals excellent. I was surprised by how quiet my room was for a large hotel and overall had a very comfortable stay.
