I bought a new YS640S about a month or so ago, the grill was delivered promptly as promised and once I had it put together I was anxious to cook on it. I bought a 10 lb. Prime, invited 8 people over for dinner on the following Sunday afternoon, expecting them to arrive around 5 p.m. so I fired up the grill early so I would be sure to have everything done by the time company arrived. Was I wrong about that....The grill quit working about an hour into the cook.....Just quit, shut down kaput! I had no idea why or what the problem was. I was so "MAD" and disappointed there I was on a Sunday, expecting a lot of people over for dinner and my new grill just quit on me. I figured out it "blew" a fuse, so I put another one in and it fired up and begin working (for about 1 minute) then the same thing happened, I put in another fuse, and the same thing happened. Here I am it is Sunday and no cooker. Lucky for me I had my "Old faithful Hasty Bake" in the garage so I pulled it out, started the fire and finished the cook, but almost 2 hours late. My company understood so it was not all lost. The next day (Monday) I got on the phone with attbbq and talked to Larry Dunsworth. What a nice guy, very professional, polite and understood my dilemma. He walked me through several "tests" on the cooker and determined that it was the "control box" that had gone bad and for some reason "shorted" out and make it blow a fuse. It seems like several wires were exposed and that would cause a short. He told me he would send me a completely new control box and I would get it "overnight" sure enough on Tuesday the new box came, I installed it (with Larry's help) and the grill worked great...for one cook, then the same thing happened again. I called Larry and he determined that it was again the "control box" so again he overnighted me another one. This is my 3rd "new control box" and I am somewhat skeptical that it will work right. I am going to try it this weekend. Without Larry's help, this cooker would have been history but what a nice man he was to help me through my problem(s). Hopefully, 3rd time is the charm! Keeping my fingers crossed.
