We needed a tall gate to keep our cats out of part of the house - they were able to jump over the stair gate we’d previously had for a toddler. This was fairly quick and easy to put in place (although I think I might have had problems if I hadn’t already had experience of fitting the shorter gate - a different make - which had clearer instructions in my opinion). So far so good - cats haven’t been able to jump over it so have stayed where they are supposed to be.
