So it turns out that the HMRC tax 'claim' Belmond make on your behalf merely mirrors the annual Review carried out by HMRC as a matter of course. The only result being that they take a 25% cut off the refund that is paid to you directly by HMRC anyway! Had I done nothing I would have received 100% of the payment without any interaction at all!
