We have just returned from a super week’s stay in Lixouri Bay. I had been looking for something similar to a Nielsen holiday, but on a smaller scale and with a more personal feel, although I didn’t think such a place could exist and still provide a good range of water sports options. I was wrong! I was so pleased to find BeyondBeach existed, and booked for a family of 5 (all adults) for June.
The week we chose, between half term and the start of the summer holidays was exceptionally quiet, but the upside was we could choose whatever water sport we wanted, when we wanted it, and we took full advantage!
Mornings started with beautiful flat water - ideal for our daily 1km wild swims, SUP yoga or paddle boarding and kayaking - with the bonus of seeing turtles and dolphins! The wind usually picked up well as the day progressed and we had a Topaz regatta and a Quest and CAT mini sailaway. The beach staff were a lovely helpful young group.
Accommodation-wise the rooms were modern, spacious and very clean. The hotel’s main dining area had lovely views of the bay and the food was delicious (if a little repetitive). The lunch snacks/meals were really good with lots of options (useful with gluten free/ diary free/non-meat eaters in our family!).
The location was a little remote, and as a family of 5 we always needed two taxis, but it was easy enough to get to town or across to Argostoli.
My husband and I would defintely consider another BeyondBeach week. Thank you!
