The German Pinot noir is unbelievable. A wiser oenophile than me told me that even the best wines needs something - a grain of salt or a cracker - to go with them but not this, it is utterly superb on its own. Dangerous in a way as it demands attention between mealtimes. Be warned but I say again first class. We’ve let them off blame for the first punch up thanks to Christopher Clark’s brilliant Sleepwalkers and I think this beauty suggests blaming the second on the Austrian lad. This is as good a wine as Sleepwalkers is a book. Get on board.
