Very disappointed with the service and whole buying experience I had from Border Motor Group and in particular the service received from Lawries. Instead of trying to make things better these guys try everything to wingle out of a situation and know how to annoy a customer.
Car sold was not as described and I haven't even received a call from the General Manager (Gemma Morrison) as promised by the Sales Coordinator Ross Livingstone.
I travelled a long way to collect this car based on what I was told only to be let down with a poor buying experience and poor description and a questionable service stamp in the book. I had to point out to the sales guy on hand over day that he was actually handing me over paperwork for another vehicle (Attention to details - NIL)
Purchased in excess of 30 cars in the last 5 years this was the first time I decided to buy used and a VW branded car. Suprised the cheapest car I've ever bought at £23k and the worst service I've ever had.
I have had to raise an official complaint with VW head office and also forced to raise my concerns with trading standards and the Motor Ombudsmen.
If your considering buying a car from these guys be sure to check all the paperwork and take everything your told with a pinch of salt as when things go wrong they will look for every excuse to not help. Do yourself a favour and pick a different garage.
The highlight of my experience in buying a car from Lawries and the border group was the train trip up to Dumfries and the views from the train window. Wish I could have said the same about the buying experience.
I'm giving this a one-star review as the chap who came to collect me from the station was the nicest person in this buying chain if I was able to grade this with no stars I would have no hesitation doing this. (Can't remember the chaps name but I remember him telling me he was an ex-policeman)
