I bought the harness for our 11 years old Giant Labrador to help him get into the back of my car which is too high for him to jump in with his arthritic back legs. He has a plate in one leg too. I use the 2 rings to lift him up with my index fingers as the material handle is not thick or stiff enough to lift a 50 k dog. The harness fits him well and he asks me to put it on when he knows he is too tired to gather up enough strength to jump in the car. Very happy with the product. I might try and strengthen the handle somehow.
