This litter gets bigger as it absorbs, so be sure to follow the directions on the bag and only put in a small amount when you fill the cat box. It absorbs and there is no smell for weeks, but we do change it monthly - after that, it doesn't cut the odors as well. We haven't had much luck spreading the used litter on the grass, so we just toss it. We like how light it is, and our dog isn't interested in the cat box with this litter, which is an additional plus!
