Litter is a lot less work than other types. Crystal crunches underfoot, clumping has to be put in bags and thrown in garbage, and I got tired of brushing it (yuck!) off my bed. The coconut does track outside of the litter box for maybe a foot, easily vacuumed with my cordless vac, it is easy to break up for absorbing, and the poop goes right into the toilet for disposal.
